Thought I'd make a recommendation on these brackets.

I use them to hold small driving spot lights.  It mounts very well on the front shocks, just a few inches below the fairing on the IS.  Would work equally well on the S/T models.  Just the right size to hold tightly without being too much to affect the shock

Do you have a picture of these mounted on your bike that you could share?

Interesting. Could maybe use them to mount dual horns, too.

I have a set of the black ones below in the ad but they were to small and need to be bored out to work. Ended up fitting mine on the engine guard using Kury 1 1/8 bar clamps as the Kury "P" mounts were to cheap/chinzy fitting for my taste.

The front shocks to taper slightly in diameter, being thicker higher up.  That's why I recommended these to same others the trouble in figuring it out.  The 55mm seems to be the right size for mounting higher up the shocks.

There were a couple of manufacturers who offered 55mm clamps over the years.

I have a set from the outfit which offered a hotrodded XR1200 Sportster back in the early 2000s. Wanting to say Storz Performance but I'd have to dig around through the stash to find the package.

Add-On/Big Bike Parts had a wind deflector set which used a similar clamp arrangement.

I used a pair of OEM front directional mounts to add lights to my from forks.
