12/9 picnic at Salt Springs BYO @ Noon

I try to get here at least once a year,      same place we gathered last year. The Salt Springs Recreation Area. Let's make this a BYO lunch and we can eat together about 12:30. Last year we had the place to ourselves and it was nice and serene. Praying for decent weather and I hope that some of ya's can make it. $6 entry fee,  There is a Subway (sandwich shop) in a Sunoco just before the park and a new Marathon gas station that has non ethanol across the street.

Highly doubtful, since this is a State Park.

Hmm....might be! Just looked it up, comes under the US Dept. of Ag. since it's located in the Ocala Nat'l. Forest.

    They do not honor the federal parks pass but last year when we ask they said no but then only charged $3 so if you go ask

I don't think I will be attending due to my respiratory issue, but it was very nice last year with a large group attending just the walk from the parking lot to picnic area caused me to be short of breath and had to stop and catch my breath several times, same reason I won't be going to Turkey Rod Run in Daytona next weekend. The walk did not seem to effect anyone else and is scenic, its a great place to get together. Hope you have good weather and a large group

Dangitall! I got doctor doin's in Alabama 12/8 and 12/11 so I'll be up there that weekend... Hate to miss this one, but whatcha gonna do? I really enjoyed the one you called last year, and I was hoping you would do another, but... Oh well, I'll possibly make Bert's 'Q' in the woods, though, so maybe I'll get to see everyone then...

Steve, I will call there tomorrow and see if maybe they have golf cart service, we saw the guy making his rounds last year.

No luck on the golf cart,      they used to transport people until last year when somebody fell off and sued them. For those wondering about the walk, to the best of my memory it is about 150 to maybe 200 yards with about a 25 foot elevation change along a smooth wide sidewalk. Oh and they wouldn't allow any motorcycles along the path either.

Eddie can still ride, he just finds it difficult when you're wearing mukluks and arctic gear when the temps drop clear down to the mid 70's. Plus, he has trouble getting his helmet down over the parka hood.

The boss wanted us to go to a Christmas party in Sarasota Saturday. I said we already made plans to go to a family picnic in ONF.

I gave it some effort. unfortunately though I will not be able to make it. my sister needs a babysitter so she can work this weekend.  I would have liked to meet some new faces and have a refresher on a few I've met before.  maybe some other time soon

Is not, in the event of rain and cold or a cold hard rain, I will be there.  Sure the bike is spotless after a recent winter detailing, but i have rain gear, screw it I am riding, solo. !

I will keep an eye on this as well however as I mentioned to Mike in a text, I can't tell if I am getting something or it is hay fever or Sinus or allergies but I am definitely run the flap down and staying home in Palmghetto is looking like a plan. For us it might be best to look forward to another Saturday.  Also Sherry will need neck surgery we found out yesterday. An MRI shows arthritis, something that was first noticed when she was on the back of the black-teal while I was leading around turquoise lake in Leadville Colorado. We hit a bump and she screamed into the Sena 20 set and woke me up.  It happpened once more while riding.  Now the Doctor says 100% recovery and no date is set.  Getting older are we?

However, I will still go Sunday and take some sad selfies       eating a protein bar all alone down by the water.
