she didn't realize how fast she was driving??
From her perspective all the cars on the road were going 40 mph in reverse! Thought she would have noticed that.

Her speeding ticket is returnable to Town of Nichols court either by mail or in person on Jan. 8.
If so, she's lucky. In VA and I think many states, that would be a mandatory appearance (for a reckless driving charge).
Maybe she can use the good old boy (or girl) network.

those Mercedes can really haul ass!!! My brothers good friend told us an embarrassing story of speeding....She was driving her boss back from a conference on a major highway in his 8 series BMW with the tunes cranked and the roads pretty empty late at night. She noticed a lot of cop lights up ahead and thought nothing of it untill they all blocked the road and waved her over. She had gone past a cop doing 180 in a 100km zone and the cop decided to radio ahead instead of chasing her!!!! She got a serious talking to and big ticket but the cops did give her a break...She said she didn't even notice and had NO CLUE she was going that fast....those big sedans can hide speed way too well!!!

We were on the way to a Country and Western concert in Wisconsin in my year old 76 Olds Toronado. My friends wife in the back seat asked me were we running late. No sez I-we have lotsa time. Then Why are you in such a hurry. Bout a buck fifteen indicated and that 455 wasn't even breathing hard. The cabin was as quiet at speed as it was standing still. Other than the lousy fuel mileage I DO Miss that ride. Believe you might could land a small plane on the hood! RIDE SAFE.

Yeah, back then FWD was new/cool tech (I know, it had been done before, but not by America post-WWII).

I used to "scare" people with my 92 nissan maxima all the time...If it was late and there was no traffic, I could creep it up to 200km/h without the passengers noticing....then I would ask them how fast we were going?....When I told them 200, they never believed until they saw the speedo. Governer was set 217km/h but that was 2/3 fourth gear, still had LOTS of power....miss that car...

Mine was an se, same motor as the naturally asperated 300zx with a 5 speed and posi front end. Jet tech chip and centerforce clutch and full dual exhaust from the headers back.....sleeper. I've always had a thing for sleepers, that's why I bought the magna and to a lesser extent the valk.

Mom and Dad purchased new a '72 Olds Custom Cruiser - with the 455 4 BBL carb. Under the right conditions - you could WATCH the gas needle drop ! Couple punks made the mistake of throwing something at the car and taking off up the highway in their stripped chassis - they had no idea what that car was capable of .
Speaking of sleepers (hehehhehe) - my daily driver certainly qualifys ! 2000 VW NB TDI (diesel) - stock , this car for the North American market came with 90 HP and about 140 lb-ft of torque - MIne now does about 140 HP and 215 Lb ft torque - and it still drives really well as a daily driver - 45 MPG / 600 mile tanks repeatedly without thinking about it. But if I need to whomp on it - I can make smoke on both ends. Plus I have my Valk....

Hmm, got clocked at 148 mph back when I was young and stupid on a KZ1000. Also got pulled over for doing 8 mph on my Ford 1210 on a public road. Told the deputy I had it maxed out. 3 cylinder diesel, hydrostatic drive. OBTW, it/s 4wd and will really kick up some dust.

My Brother Ross-da prez-had a 68 Pontiac Grand Prix with I believe the 400 H/O and a ginormous quadrasuck 4 BBL carb. Understanding I had to refill the tank after I drove it got it out on a decent straight stretch and at about 20 MPH I planted my right foot. Not only lit up the rear tires I DID watch the fuel gauge drop rather quickly. Let's just say That experience Was VERY much worth it! RIDE SAFE.

Our "road car" (comes out of the fruit cellar for long trips). 1994 Mark VIII with the 4.6 L. It'll get'cha there quick and comfy when you get it up to speed on that straight stretch of highway between here and Las Vegas. Nothin' like that air ride at 90. Did the cops check her for sobriety and her car for illegal substances? That speed is way too excessive for a right-thinking person.
