Left Friday morning at 5 am headed to Tulsa to pick up my girl. Made it to Bob's at 2:30  coolsmiley
She never started so easy when cold even when she was new. Took it for a short spin around the neighborhood and she ran great. ( can't wait to get her out on the road)
Just wanted to say thanks to Bob for the job well done and the hospitality. Had dinner with Bob then the next morning went out and had Breakfast.  Back to his house and loaded the girl up and headed back. Trip went well.
Look forward to my next visit.

So, let’s get technical, what all did Bob do to your ride?

GLH package = Goes Like Hell  2funny 2funny
Did his port,Polish and milling on heads..polished intakes and fly cut the Pistons. And desmogged and cleaned the carbs. Had a few plugged slow jets.
Also new throttle cables and choke cable. The choke now works like it should no trying to break the leaver on the last 1/4 of travel.

I understand most of the procedures but not "fly cutting the pistons". Please tell me what that consists of why do you do it. Maybe someone else besides me would like to know. uglystupid2

Well let's see here if you mill the heads the valves would hit the Pistons. The Pistons from factory already have a fly cut in them to prevent them hitting. You have to deepen it to prevent this after milling the head. In short it increases your compression,so you get a wee bit more HP.

Does the increase in compression require any increase in the octane rating of the fuel you use?

Yes need to run 93. But I am OK with that as that is all that has ever been put into that bike for 20 yrs. I know it wasn't necessary but that is why I used.

What happened to the photo of your Bee in your signature? Always enjoyed seeing that pic on your posts. I've always wanted to see a full pic of your Green IS as well....still have it?
After 16 years  with my IS , I wish there was a crack Valk mechanic such as Attic Rat within striking distance of here that I could take her to for a refresh ( not that she's really out of sorts or anything, I just like spending $$ on her while I'm still working  Smiley

If you decide to have him do the work you do Have to call well ahead of time and get your slot. I know-hecka of a roll from yer place to his. After ridin Big Mikes turbo bike at Asheville in 14 while not to the turbo extreme a few more ponies and a couple more M P Gs wouldn't huer a thang!  cooldude Mines showing 124 thousand plus miles and Will Still light up the rear A T T fairly easily. I've been in Bobs shop and seen some of his restos up close and personal. Can you say-Lookin like Factory Fresh??  2funny RIDE SAFE.
