In the mid 13th century a volcano in Indonesia erupted and caused global cooling that killed thousands across Europe and Scandanavia.

https://www.inquisitr.com/974915/13th-century-mystery-eruption-caused-by-indonesian-volcano/

It had 2 major eruptions. The first put 4 cubic miles of volcanic dust into the atmosphere . The second, 6 cubic miles up to 22 miles high. Rocks from these eruptions were found 20 miles from the volcano.

The dust spread out and reflected the suns heat UV etc. The dust had a high sulfur content which also made sulfuric acid rain which damaged crops.

The 13th century one was near Lombok. To the right in this attached map.

The current volcano at Mount Agung.

Wonder if CARB will fine Indonesia, or sell them expensive carbon credits?
