I was recently thinking about Christmas when I was a kid. One of my favorite pics was as me and my 2 brothers with our Army Outfits on. We were some badass 3-6 year olds. Decked out with helmets, machine guns, jackets. But, alas I couldn’t find it. I did find this one of me and my brother talking on Walkie Talkies. My little sister was busy with her doll. Anyway, I thought it might be nice for us to post up pics of Christmas past. My favorite Christmas was the year I was 14 and had a job. I was able to buy a pool table for the family rec room. I was very proud to do that. Better than any present I ever got.

It's okay, we'd have to stand on our heads to read the date if you did.

All the photos from my childhood are either in albums or slide carousels in my parents' basement, so no easy access for me.

If the photo was turned right side up, the year of your birth would read '89. From the photos you've posted of yourself, you look like hell for being in your early 30's Wink

And in the spirit of the post, not me, but my history... We think this was taken around 1950... My uncle on the left, his wife sitting below him, my dad's aunt next to her.

Back right is my paternal grandfather and his mother, my grandmother sitting in front of him holding my dad sitting to her left and his uncle the small child sitting on the ground...

I like the pic. But they seem kind of stoic for it being Christmas. (Thanks for fixing mine)  cooldude

Well John, my sister and brother do have hair. But I might be completely bald at the age of 9.  coolsmiley

Hard to find old Christmas pics for my family too.  They're around, but buried.

I did find this old pic of me and my little sister out on the porch swing.  I was a lot quieter and a bit shy in my youth.

The Renaissance Faire I spend my springs at as a show on falconry.

At the end of the show you can approach the birds and get a good close look.

I went up at that time and started making ugly faces at the birds, saying "Nyah nyah nyah!" at them.

The royal falconer approached me and asked what in the royal realm of randomness was I doing???

I told him I was practicing for my new one man off broadway show.

Doh! I do believe you are right! I checked with my dad, and based on that, my dad's the little boy sitting on the floor, his brother is the baby in their mother's lap, and the other young boy is my dad's cousin.

Can't believe I missed that!

If I'm going to make a sarcastic remark , I should contribute to the thread as well.
This would have been in the early 60's in my hometown of Nelson BC. My younger brother on the left and me with probably the best present I can remember as a youngster. We didn't know it back then but our family was far from well off. Mom & Dad built that fort out of kindling and included a bunch of plastic cowboys & Indians, army men, and a canon that shot ping pong balls...played with that forever.
My sister & mother sitting to the right of me, then my Dad and Oma & Opa (Grandparents) in the back. One happy looking bunch for sure... Grin Grin

Great post Mike  cooldude It's very heartening to remember that it's the little things and presents that are important. I usually don't get involved in all the Christmas shopping for kids and grandkids. My wife goes all out and enjoys it. A few years back she had spent countless dollars and hours buying for my grandson, with all the stress that comes along with that. Having seen all this I decided to stop by the Dollar Store on Christmas Eve and picked up a few things for him. Some parachute army men, those balloons that fly around the room, some whoopee cushion things. He enjoyed all those and spent all his time the most at our gathering.

Not too many family xmas photos exist, but here's me at 9 or 10 years old. This was 50 year ago ... My favorite memory? Getting a Flexible Flyer sled for xmas and hitting the local hills with my friends ...
