rear end mileage maint. with moly paste

Any idea on a good mileage interval with the MP50 moly paste. Know the book says 10K. Running the car tire I have around that mileage. But the tire is not close to changing out. Any thoughts on what theyve seen with it at 10K. Or poss. good mileage to relube?  Being winter thought it would be a good time but if no need i could wait.

I've done 12000 with Guard Dog Moly BUT-disclaimer here-I'm more in line with Chris's recommendation of 10G on miles. And as an aside-though I've done the rear end maint a number of times I STILL follow the step by step stuff I have printed up. I was an Airplane wrench and air crew in the Navy and check lists do help. RIDE SAFE.

I've talked to several promechanics and none of them use Moly Paste. Most use Bel Ray waterproof grease. My last Valk I sold with 155K and it still had the original splines in perfect shape.

In the pinion cup #13 there are two ports, or passageways, that go into the rear drive gear area.

I don't believe anyone (except Honda engineers) knows for sure their purpose, but their there for some reason.

I feel the reason may be for venting of the pinion cup.

O.K  Its been 11k miles since tire change and lube with car tire on my I/S. So went ahead and tore down to do the maint.  At 11k all looks great. Still well lubed. I have used the Guarddog  *Paste,(thinned out over time),
 Bel-Ray. Waterproof, *Grease. (was almost dry and stating to rust)  
 And last time and  now the Moly MP 50 *Paste has done the best to hold up.  
Now to check my other Valk Tourer. Bought it last summer so crossing my fingers somebody did it right.
Thats the only draw back running a car tire which is o.k, Is that before did the maint when the m/c tire wears out. Now being that the ct gets more miles have to break it down mid ways of ct wear. But like said is a good thing otherwise would be buying a m/c tire also at this interval.

IF water gets in there, from the Ujoint boot, power washers, days and days of rain riding, or however, all bets are off.

Mine was at 13,500 miles upon death of Champiro tire.

All "looked" fine.

The longest I've gone. All previous were at motorcycle tire death. Normally around 9,000 miles. Both on Valkyrie and ST1300.

Yeah Paul, my bike tire rears never made it to 10K, so tire interval was it.

With car tires going over 30K, I will split the difference at around 15K.  I have no abnormal wear, and I am not worried.  I've never had any of that dreaded rusty looking pasty crap in my splines (and no water).
