Suddenly I can't create a new email NOR reply to any existing emails.

When I click on "NEW" I get a blank screen with my email folders to the side as usual but the only options being   SEND, ATTACH, DISCARD.

Doing a search online it seems to be a long standing problem with Outlook and I've done as suggested by deleting cache, browsing history, cookies. All to no avail.

Outlook web mail or using Outlook the stand alone program?

If Web mail, tried a different browser?

If it's any consolation, my car will NEVER make that weird noise for the mechanic... Wink

As a mechanic I have fixed many odd noises just by my presence around a vehicle.  I feel it's an intimidation thing. All i have to do is raise my hand around most children in a threatening manner and they behave as well.

I like it when the car guys on NPR (the Tappet brothers) get callers to imitate the noise there vehicle is making.

The best was an Indian guy (Asia) with a thick accent.

Dagga, dagga, dag, dag, dagga, dagga, dagga.

My wife boys always come to me bout weird noises with their cars and I always ask, does it run, does it stop, does the heat work? If the answer is yes to all then I tell them that’s why I hooked up those loud stereos, just turn it up and magically the noise the car makes goes away. Lol of course I always figure out what’s wrong and fix it for them but it’s fun messing with them.

I have loved those guys and their show for many years.   cooldude

I've been laughing so hard, I had to pull off the road to regain my ability to drive.

They get the strangest calls and requests..... like.... Hey how come when I turn my radio on, the car overheats?    Other times, as soon as the caller IDs the car, they go.... uh oh, that's all we need to know.  The New England/Boston accents just added to the humor.

Better entertainment than 90% of television... with only sound.    cooldude Grin

Sadly, after 35 years, one of the brothers has passed.
