Jimmy and Candi were in a local shopping center just before Christmas.

Candi suddenly noticed that Jimmy was missing, and as they had a lot to do, she called him on his cell phone.
Candi asked, "Jimmy, where are you? You know that we have lots to do."

Jimmy said, "Do you remember the jewelry store we went into about 10 years ago, and you fell in love with a diamond necklace? I could not afford it at the time and I said that one day I would get it for you."

Little tears started to flow down Candis cheek, and she got all choked up.
"Yes, I do remember that shop," she replied.

"Well, I'm in the  Hooters next to that."

Yeah, my wife also. But I also sent it to my daughters, my youngest wrote back; just change the names to Toni and Andy because he's already done that to me more than once.  ;D

I would never do that,, maybe that is why I am coming up on 40 years of marriage. Love her more now than ever. Makes a good joke though! ;D

A very touching tale, John! Sometimes guys can just naturally do the most sensitive things... imagine him remembering that shop after all those years... WOW!   :coolsmiley:

I used to get dragged to the malls.

I would sit on the hallway benches with other dragged-to-the-mall husbands and we would share our stories of being dutiful husbands. (remember the group W bench in Alice's Restaurant (the movie))?

And watch the girls.

Got caught doing that, and I'm like.... well, I came with you to this GD place, and that's the only thing worth a damn to do here.  Besides, we're not shopping, just looking.

One particular mall had a big row of furniture store recliners right across from the big screen TV store, and us dragged-to-the-mall husbands would line up and kick back in the recliners and watch football games.  That was a pretty good deal, until the furniture guys got tired of us hanging out in their chairs and moved them.  Bastards.

For most of my adult live married life, we live in small towns.  We would venture into large cities once a month or so.  All of them had malls.   I would find a bench outside a shop that my Wife and 3 daughters would go into.  I would spend my time looking at the folks going by, most look a the young ladies.  Enjoyed the summers more than winters.  :2funny: :2funny:
