Meh. I can't stand the left and I certainly can't stand her. The point she makes though, is not wrong. There are some who simply will be racisy until they die. She didn't say that white, or old whites, need to die. She spoke about some who were so indoctrinated with racism that there is simply no changing their minds.

Something tells me she will not run.
Drastic change of lifestyle for her and equally important it will be brutal, and she knows it.
Politics at the Senate and US House Reps on up are really blood sports these days. Who would want to go through that process? Really, only those with a pretty big ego that needs to be stoked. Not really the case with Oprah; that was her talk show appeal, she related to the common folk.
She is a smart woman, the lifestyle change and ensuing blood battle will keep her on the sidelines.

She is-well guessin she is-an entertainer. A bunch of entertainment types threatened/promised to leave America should Trump become P O T U S. And last I heard those entertainment types STILL reside in America. Some time ago-well LONG time ago-she rubbed me wrong and quit watchin her and quit listening to her. She ain't payin my bills nor warmin my bed. Talk shows and reality shows are NOT things I watch nor am I interested in. oprah or any other entertainer could state-the sun rises in the east and sets in the west-I would tend to still not believe the entertainer involved. And much like the not fer longs I will no longer fund entertainers. She oprah may have the money but she don't git my vote. Simple really. RIDE SAFE.

One of the prime things that the government is pledged to do is provide for the common defense. I belong to the Association of the Army and have been reading a lot of the problems that must be solved in the military to get us back on top. We are lucky that Trump has given the military his priority. (unlike his predecessor.). Winfrey, as the press is fond of pointing out, is a celebrity just like Trump and a BLACK WOMAN besides. Eminently qualified (according to the gushing media) to run . Our forefathers, in their wisdom (NOT meaning to be sarcastic), made the office of the presidency a civilian commander-in-chief over the military. Unfortunately, they could not foresee the future. IMO, what we need is another president combining the traits of Eisenhower and Reagan. While we're thinking that, we should go for term limits in the congress too. Problems solved.  |

One thing that seems to be a certainty based on history....if Oprah runs she would win hands down. Why? Because like with Obama....people voted for him simply because he was black, and in Oprah's case....also because she's a woman. In Obama's case, it made no difference to the AA community that he had less business acumen & experience than the average high school kid working in a gas station part time. He was black, the AA voters were black, that was all they needed to know. Then make the added enticement of being a female....same mentality would apply. A black female running for POTUS....and from all corners of the U.S. you would hear "woohoo, stop the bandwagon and let me climb aboard. I might need some help since I have my eyes closed."    Heaven help us if we let that happen again, eight years was enough. |

I did hear yesterday that Oprah at the least, provided cover, for ole Harv for at least 30 years, and from several sources. I am not going to say this is true or not, but it seems they were quite close. I am sure someone(s) are doing some serious digging as I write. Personally I could care less. Hollywood has always been a sleaze industry and the woman had a better chance of landing a role if they signed the papers DRR. And if nothing else most are hypocrites beyond reason. If Hollywood determines morality then there is no morality. I seriously doubt she runs. |

It's all relative. When Obama was reelected it lowered the bar to where even Trump was more than qualified. The Dems screamed in horror that Trump was a TV celeb with no political experience, therefore he couldn't be qualified no matter what. Oprah is a TV celeb with no political experience, yet many Dems are going nuts wanting her to run. Obviously Trump's not qualified because he isn't a black woman. At least Trump's TV show had people competing for jobs. Oprah's has people looking under their seats to see what they've won just for having a pulse. We just finished 8 years of "YOU win a check, and YOU win a check, and YOU win a check"  |

Star Trek? Am I the only one who sees the irony and hypocrisy in using tv/Hollywood as an inspiration for good human beings. It's easy to write scripts or give speeches on human awesomeness, even Harvey Weinstein produced a bunch of Opray Winfrey Tv and big screen projects.
