I checked the weather out of some curiosity.  We're at 8F.  We did have 50s just a few days ago.  Variety is good.

I'm glad you have the warm spell.

65 and light rain all day.

Opened the windows, turned on the fan, and sat back and imagined a nice spring day.

Slowly washing sand and salt off roads.

We're looking at a high in the low 30's with low's in the low teens this weekend.

Tuesday is saying high of 29 with a low of 9, 40% chance of snow.

Someone REALLY doesn't want me to ride my new toy.

Sunday morning it was -12F.

Today it hit 62F.  It's 59F now.

Tomorrow at this time it's expected to be in the teens

The 12 + inches of snow we had on the ground Thursday morning is just about gone. Just the piles left.

January thaw to extreme.

Twas 61* F when I got up this morning.   Now it's 19*F.   The Wx "expert" is predicting single digit temps for sunrise.    coolsmiley  Snow is falling and were told to expect 4 to 6 inches by the time I get up.   I'm blaming F6John, he could have closed the eastern gate and kept the four letter word in Hopkinsville.  Wink

I was just thinking two days ago how crazy the extremes of weather can be in Jan. and Feb.  In a previous post Jess commented on the duration of the last deep freeze.  Our local Dayton weather girl stated in that deep freeze we went the longest duration of never going over 20 in the recorded history of this place, over two weeks, for me this was depressing. It was damn cold to even go skiing, at least for me.  The lowest low was about minus 13.  Then this past Wed and Thur we touched close to 60, almost a 75 degree swing.  The four day warm up has now concluded and back to single digits - Yippee.

The Wx "expert" wasn't far off, got a bit over 4 inches of snow.   Temps were single digit when I got up.   Waited till the sun came up so I could see and got on the tractor and plowed driveways for a while.   Discovered a hydraulic leak at the joy stick for the plow.    tickedoff   That's going to have to wait until it warms up a bit.   Too cold for this boy, fingers are already stiff from plowing snow.   I'll just refill the hydraulic system for now.

I love KY and most of it's weather.  Now if I could just get my neighbors to the west to shut a few gates and close off those cold weather fronts, all would be good.   John, that's a hint.   2funny

Ditto on winter.................

No worries about the riding.   Only riding I'm going to do is on the tractor plowing and that's only when it has to be done.

There's good and bad with just about every location.   While I'd love to be enjoying your temps now, winter is short lived here and Mother Nature is much kinder here during the warmer months.   It's all relative to what you're used to and what you like.

Don't like snow and that's why I don't live further north.   Don't like humidity or heat and that's why I don't live further south.   It is, what it is.   Enjoy those temps.   cooldude
