I found this video of the facility where I work (at least until September), when I was a kid reading Hotrod magazine in the late sixties, I always thought it would be cool to work here.  It is a cool place to work, but like anything else, after a while, it's just a job.  I must say, I have worked in worse places.

You might be interested in seeing if you can get a tour of the Smart Road at Virginia Tech while you're at Inzane.

I've heard rumor that GM is testing driverless cars there.

No, as it says that is  Jim Mero.  That was filmed on the North-South straightaway, the one that runs along Kensington Road along the back of the grounds.  I have been on it several times, but they have restricted access to it after several accidents (a lot of slower or stopped vehicles being rear ended by people driving and looking at laptops/instrumments in the vehicles.  They now require a passenger to monitor the instruments.

This video

was filmed on the road track, which was built a Bob Lutz's insistence.  It is located on your left as you drive up the access road to the grounds.  It used to be the truck loop, where the medium duty trucks were tested.  It is now restricted and you need special training for access.  unfortunately, i haven't had the opportunity to get the training yet.

They just completed a multi million dollar building where the cars were parked and wire spools were in this video, it is for observation and traffic control on the track.  How cool would it be to be the dude whose job it is to chauffeur these press dude around the track, trying to make them blow lunch?
