I know what they do with sick old cows! Bloviate: talk at length, especially in an inflated or empty way.

We had a (giant strong male) cat for many years my wife loved as a child (no children). After many years, when it was at the end, after tremendous money in vet bills, it was time for him to be put down (suffering). I offered to do it (humanely, one shot) but she thought that was cruel, and there is no reasoning with her.
So I take them to the vet. The vet says, you don't have to stay (I want to go, she's got to stay). So he gives him the shot, and the cat does not die. He's not suffering anymore exactly, but he's on his back fighting for life, panting away. And of course the wife is now suffering greatly. I'm giving the vet the evil eye and thinking about doing him some small violence. The vet never makes any move to give him another dose, and says sometimes it takes a while, he's not in pain, and I'm thinking (not saying) he's under-dosed him to save on the medicine. So the wife is in full weeping mode while we wait, and wait, and in about 20 minutes, he passes on. The vet says, no charge (he's already made a bundle on that animal). Good thing for him.
I'm so angry I don't dare speak, and she's exhausted, and I don't say.... so that was humane as compared to an instant death?

I have heard many horror stories about putting an animal down. I'm still a believer in the one shot no suffering method. Of course the inner city folks will continue to think that is the most cruel thing anyone could ever do. When did it become more acceptable to murder a human being than kill an animal?

Despite my hard heart, it's not like that experience didn't bother me at all. That cat's name was Fat Boy, and he was a magnificent huge muscled pure-bread Himalayan with bright blue eyes, who acted noble and lion-like his whole life. And he was a good friend to both of us for many years. What came from that was I told her... I'm never going to a vet's office ever again for any reason.I hope we were done talking about Crazy Nancy. Otherwise, sorry for the drift. Someone probably needs to take her to the vet soon too.

Take all your overgrown infants away somewhere And build them a home, a little place of their own The Fletcher Memorial Home For Incurable Tyrants and Kings
And they can appear to themselves every day On closed circuit T.V To make sure they’re still real It’s the only connection they feel
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Pelosi the Hag Mr. McCain and friend, Mrs. Warren, and Feinstein “Hello Diane!” Mr. Schumer and party

When did it become more acceptable to murder a human being than kill an animal? perhaps the problem was the vet, not the method. I've had cats since 1974 and one by one they've gotten to that time. I've been with all of them at the vet's office, I can't imagine not being there to comfort and love them for as long as they're able to sense my presence. It's always been quick and very peaceful. First shot (IV) puts them under and then the second gives them release. Hard to tell they're gone.

I loved my dogs! Putting them down ripped my heart out. 2 beagles within 6 months (great rabbit dogs) and then my best friend Pete 6 months later. Pete showed up here one day s puppy, hurt, and never left. Maybe I'm still a sissy. But when Pete was put down I cried like a baby. That was 4 years ago, and i still miss him. Haven't had a dog since.

Way to completely change the direction of a thread Jess. Our last cat got sick and had to be put down, I was very thankful that our vet is a good friend of ours and came to the house to do it. As far as Nancy Pelosi is concerned; The real problem is the crazy people in California that keep voting for her.

Our vet came out to our wagon so we wouldn't have to put her through the pain of being carried. My son and I were inconsolable. She was the perfect dog.

Lab mixes have always been my favorite. They make good dogs. Our current is a 100lb Lab / Plott Hound mix: Other than a Lab / Great Dane mix that I had, he is the most protective dog that I've ever had.

Regarding Pelosi's obvious hypocrisy, instead of always being angry when she and other shameless Dems say things they know aren't true, maybe the Republicans should take a lesson from it. The electorate does not care about the truth if a liar brings them what they want. Republicans have most of the press "keeping them honest" compared to the left, yet are unwilling to make major investments in buying their own media outlets and lying their collective asses off. Because of the Senate floor's protection from slander lawsuits, militant pond scum like Harry Reid was never called to justice for his knowingly false statements about "Romney not paying a dime of Federal Tax". Maybe the Republicans should grow a pair and become militant pond scum themselves? Stop acting like politics is a boardroom where you can be fired or jailed for lying, and mirror the Dems move for move. Scream (from the floor) that you know for a fact that the house and senate minority leaders employ hundreds of illegals, drown puppies, eat kittens. So long as Dems have no shame, neither should Repubs, since the name of the game is to win votes. Regarding Romney, I don't think he was a good candidate, but his campaign showed he has some honor. If I had his money and Reid had so badly slandered ME in a national spotlight, I'd have found a way to beat him to a bloody pulp and then toss him under a stump grinder when he came to.
