Some time back while planning some routes in and around Roanoke and The Blue Ridge Parkway, I requested some information about the area and they sent me a TON of booklets, pamphlets and such on the area and several places of interest. Some of the information I have may be of some help for others, so I thought I'd share.

www.visitroanoke.com  or call and ask for a printed Visitor's Guide at 800-635-5535. It is LOADED with information about Roanoke. Attractions, Hotels, Events, Mas, Place to Eat, etc.

http://www.wildernessroad-virginia.com/attractions/historicsites/ - if you're into it, there's a ton of information about the histrical sites in Va

https://www.blueridgeparkway.org - Learn about The Blue Ridge Parkway and so much more.  You can request info and they will mail you the printed guide that is absolutely LOADED with information about the Parkway and the various communities that it passes thru. The edition I have is 87 printed pages and well worth reading to see all of the things the area has to offer.

You can request the information by Mail to get the printed version using the link on the Contact Us page - https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/contact-us/

And don't forget The Natural Bridge, once owned by Thomas Jefferson,  a 215-foot tall limestone gorge carved out by Cedar Creek. https://www.virginia.org/cities/NaturalBridge/. It's 30 mins to an hour North/East of Roanoke, and is a major attraction in these parts. https://www.virginia.org/cities/NaturalBridge/

And for some MAJOR Curves, check out the Back of the Dragon, and 7 routes that will make you happy you own a motorcycle. The maps for these routes can be found at http://www.clawofthedragon.com/maps-2.html

All good rides.

Keep in mind that coming from Roanoke you have to add about 200 miles for the round trip.
