Whether or not you are a country music fan, these are truly the words of a deep thinker, and a highly intelligent person.  So simple, yet so profound! Read the words of wisdom from that famous philosopher Willie Nelson, iconic country and western singer, on his 75th birthday:

"I have outlived my pecker".

Truly deep words.

What more can be said?

It took a long, long time. Have a minor personal acquaintance with Willie from years ago and more substantial acquaintance with a number of folks who know him well. For many years Willie was well known for his "adventures," especially on the road.

There's a pretty well known story about his returning home one night when he was married to his second wife. Willie was apparently quite drunk and fell asleep. His wife rose quietly and set about sewing him into the blanket he was sleeping under. When she had finished, she took a baseball bat and woke him forcefully.

Regardless, a great artist and a great American.

As many people as I have heard that story about, I have to conclude it is a myth.  hoser  :coolsmiley:

.....I was lucky enough to see Willie at his very last ..4th of July Picnic.....before the IRS "confiscated his ranch and golf course"......for failure to pay back taxes..

. . ...rode out of Houston where we lived for...hours and hours...out into the flat plains of Texas....was a typical 98 degree day with 110 % humidity....when we finally got there every inch of shade was spoken for under anything that afforded any....for the price of addmission Willie had an actual...tanker truck there...and the tanker was filled with what else....Lone Star Beer.....it was an okay concert....as I recall acoustics werent the best....but one of the highlights was when this long..lanky... Texas Philly....stripped off her top and started dancing in the hot Texas sun.....this short lil...Bad Ass ?...."Bandidio individual"....strolls right up to her and starts to try and make time with her.....she looked...down...at him...and busted up laughing.....he turned and quickly walked away...trying to keep what dignity he had left intact.....

..Happy Birthday Willie...and dont fret ..too much..about that...other Willie...Im sure he served you well..
. . . ...I saw a werewolf at Trader Vics. . . ...his hair was perfect...

A pot smoking tax evader.  Yep, a great (liberal) American!!!  ;D  ;D
The problem with Socialists is they eventually run out of other people's money to spend!

Some people are too stupid to realize how ignorant they are.
