Nice to see a ride report , thx for posting  cooldude I've read and viewed so much about that route, and I have to agree with you about your preference for off season access. Throughout BC here, there are several outstanding routes made "famous" in  ride guides and other MC publications where you will find every type of bike and skill level of rider (along with cars, etc) flocking to them in the late Spring, Summer , early Autumn seasons. So much so that they become either dangerous or just not enjoyable to ride at all. However, if you catch them on a rainy day or in cooler weather when the hoards stay off the roads, they are still exquisite, as I'm sure the Dragon is.  Thankfully there are so many other much lesser known roads here equally fine or even better  where one can get their thrills, as I'm sure there are in your mountains. cooldude
