RIDE a Valkyrie

It was 33 degrees when I started the Valkyrie.  Front tire was 38 lbs so I put a few more in it.  Rear was 43 perfect for the temps.

It was already clouding over and the Wind was picking up and got pretty nice along the river road north once I got started descending the 9A hill towards Croton.

Got lots of thumbs up from kids riding in parents SUV's and I returned them to the kids to smiles from kids and parents

Stopped to gas up at Annsville Circle where 6/35/202 meet by the goat trail.  Riding by Fort Smith entrance gate that wind was screaming along the east face of the mountain so I decided to return to the circle to take 9 north for a spell instead of the goat trail where I would be pounded by cross winds bouncing off the mountain and the north wind coming thru the pass.  Turned around at the monastary and back south.

I tried my amber clip on sunglasses and that really made everything stand out in the flat light.  Usually I just use the visor smoked glass or nothing.  Fun experimenting, you never know till you try stuff

Rode out to the water in a few spots and at the last one I hooked up the heated gloves.  Only 40 miles today, but that is ok, that is more than I was expecting to ride today.  In a few hours the snowstorm will hit and perhaps half a foot in Ossining before its over

By Thursday it may  be in the 60's  You never know...... All you in the northwest be safe, looks like a doozy of a storm heading your way

That’s 40 more miles than I rode today...
I cut, hauled and stacked 3 truck loads of nice red oak for the ‘19-‘20 winter season.
It’s clouding up here now, gotta get my stuff together for a night of plowing.

Thanks for the ride Evan

I find it pleasant to be able to envision where you are talking about your ride. Glad you are able to still get out once in a while.  cooldude

Dang, Craig. I had no idea you Massachusetts boys were so rich. Using red oak for fire wood ? Us poor desert rats pay 5 gazillion dollars a board foot for that stuff.  Wink

Yup, best firewood we got up here. It’ll last 3-4 years under cover in long lengths before using, splits easy once frozen, and is the best for keeping the home toasty warm.
The property I’m cutting on now used to be a farm so all the trees are the same size, started life when the fields were abandoned.
But for some reason, 30 years ago I could cut way more trees and do it a lot quicker than I can today...

I did that to, only I cut a bunch of down maple along with it. I don't particularly like ash. But since it's all dying around here I cut a truck load of that to. Got a good head start for the next couple of years.

What to do when snow is coming "Down".   You sit drinking coffee and read what you guys are saying.  That's what you do.

Yeah, I need to quit drinking coffee and go remove the white stuff.  Just being lazy.   To think we were enjoying high 50's temps just a week ago.  Got in some 400 miles of riding.  Not today.  by Tuesday the over night low is suppose to be close to zero.

snow am fine with,  tomorrow  mid-day luckily up north supposedly about 60 miles up to 1/2 inch of freezing rain crap.  Hope we get all rain all 1-2 inches of it supposedly.

never washed the vehicles yet this winter was tempted to today but why bother since the rain will wash some of it off tomorrow, or so I hope RAIN NOT freezing rain/sleet.

yet another near snowless winter so far only 2 snowfalls each 5-6 inches is all.  Why anyone around here owns a snowmobile is beyond me, for what?  2-3 weeks of the entire year to drive one?
