OMG he is not wearing a wedding ring either. CHEATER!!!!!!

Guess I am one too,, never wore one and never will. Wife don't want one either. We know we are married and that is all that matters. 40 years and counting. Saw my dad get his finger ripped off when I was young because he had a ring on.

I have no hope that anything will be done about gun violence until the current crop are thrown out of office. But, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that he let these people have their moment.  ;)
It seems to be that Trump is his own worst enemy: for every step he does / can take forward, he stumbles 2 backward.  Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, has a position of power in Trump's administration but has failed to acquire a security clearance.  The situation is so bad, so scandalous and in violation of anti-nepotism laws, that the White House Chief of Staff, John Kelly, has just issued a 5 page memo stating that anyone who has failed to acquire their security clearance since June will no longer have access to secure information (read: lock Kushner out).

Trump has 2 women outright declaring out-of wedlock sexual relations (which only bothers us when a liberal does it), and several other women declaring sexual harassment.

Trump hasn't filled necessary, and required by his job, posts, including several ambassadorships such as Turkey and South Korea (!).

Etc, etc, etc.

So when he tries, or does, something good, his [massive] mistakes keep following him.  He may be able to fix a lot, but he's leaving a lot broken and doesn't seem to be in much of a rush to repair what he doesn't think is important - to himself, or to those who aren't seeming to pay attention.

What the hell does any of this have to do with the topic at hand? Who cares. I applaud Meathead for saying trump did a good thing. But you on the other hand just has to tear him down for doing a good thing. And who gives a crap if trump makes notes. Being Time ragazine wrote the article about the notes it would not surprise me if it was photoshopped. I don't care one way or another. Besides Obama couldn't do a speach without a teleprompter. If he didn't use one he couldn't complete a sentence with saying the word "um" several time. Don't believe me? Go find one of his speaches.

I don't know about you, but I find it helpful to have notes to remind me to say what I really want to say.  This is especially true in an environment where there could be distractions and interruptions and no time to stand there with my finger on my temple trying to remember that really important thing I wanted to say.  Those notes are a sign of proper preparation, and to take them as a sign of insincerity is disingenuous.

No kidding.

I've been using notes to self all my life.  Sit in college for 9 years, notes.  Try a legal case without notes...... fail.  I have notes all over the place today, reminding me to do things I don't want to do.

My memory is still pretty good, but without notes, life would be chaos.

For instance,  I can still name my 1st through 6th grade teachers, can you?
My Dad was always chasing greener pastures when I was young. I had 10 different schools and teachers by 3rd grade. I gave up trying to remember their names. It was always just "yes Ma'am". But I do remember Mrs. Gault, my third grade teacher. Old and mean as hell. But I learned more from her than anyone else until later on in high school. She was tough as nails, and expected perfection. (Or at least to an eight year old it seemed perfection) I had the most spectacular cursive handwriting you could imagine because of her. Now I can barely read my own chicken scratch. I sure didn't like her at the time, but she served me well later in life knowing I was capable of more than I thought I was. Thank you Mrs. Gault.  :cooldude:

As most know, I'm not a big fan of our President. But today he did something that I feel compelled to call out. He brought in victims from Columbine, Sandy Hook, and Parkland and let them have their say. It was very compelling and powerful. Kudos to Trump for letting them speak their mind. I don't know if it will lead to anything, but it was a good thing he did.  :cooldude:

Just can't handle Trump doing something good for everyone can you? Haters will always hate. And why anything you have to say means nothing to most everyone here.
Missed the point?  Didn't read the article?

How much of what Trump did was "good", versus "did what was expected" or even worse "did what his advisors told him to do", because while he was doing his "good" deed he had to remember to read from his script??

Way to go Meathead giving credit where do.  WRT the picture, I believe it is photo shopped.  If I had notes to refer to, why would I hold them in such a way as to prevent me from reading them?  Of course, there could be writing on both sides of the paper.

This topic clearly shows just how small minded many of our enlightened individuals are on this board. Don't want to remember that there were 38 mass murders on President Obamas watch over eight years (the most on any president since 1982) and not once was anything like what President Trump is doing televised or even performed.

It also shows just how little and small minded and not understanding the corporate culture or just what it takes to run a large entity that you pick apart such small and non-meaning items (the agenda of the enlightened) because you have such a hatred for this individual.

I talk in front people and groups all day and I have to use notes.  On those notes are sometimes reminders to encourage people that many think I should know this already.  Doesn't mean I am clueless or insensitive.  I have many irons in the fire at the time and although the meeting or presentation is my main focus, my mind may be divided on the next task or tasks.

I would wager that many of our enlighten think that all president Trump does is sit in his office all day and watch Fox News and suck on his thumb (the medias portrayal of President Trump).  No matter what his personal faults are he has tried to tackle many difficult programs that face this country and had some success.  May not be what you enlightened wanted or like but one thing he has done is force congress to grudgingly do their job and be legislators.  Most of you would crumble under just 1/10 of the constant negativity that you enlighten place on this man.

You all amaze me constantly.  No I'm not a big Trump follower.  I know you would find it hard to believe but I am a democrat who is tired of all the mean spirited, senseless, and most time ridiculous concepts of the enlightened. Might be time to grow up and take the rose color glasses off.

So he had notes, you ever hear the last guy try to talk without a teleprompter??

RP#62

I go to a lot of meetings and I chair a lot of meetings.  I have notes that remind me to say hello to everybody and tell them where the bathrooms are and lots of other simple stuff because I'm usually thinking about a million other things and I'll forget otherwise and these are meetings that I'm not really emotionally invested in.  I couldn't imagine going into a meeting like this - I'm surprised how few notes he had.  To be snarky and critical of something as petty as this is just another manifestation of I hate Trump and all it serves to do is cheapen any other valid criticisms of him you may have.

In the Navy I was an Aircraft Emergency Equipment repair guy. Skipper of the Squadron wanted me to talk about Emergency Equipment to the Pilots and Aircrew. I was a Very Junior E-4 at the time. Even with a 3 day heads up I Still NEEDED to refer to my notes through out the entire presentation. And I fielded questions after the demonstration. I do NOT go to the grocery store or wally wurld with out a shopping list. I give President Trump very high marks for putting those folks in the White House and then having it Televised. Least ways he is in FACT putting himself out there and actually Trying to do something-even if some folks refuse to see it. I would say him and mainly his family have been threaten by the UN global marxist elitists that want this county to be gone so they can usher in their one world govt. the UN main agenda is too remove all guns from civilians.   All of which is anti-american, anti-constitution, anti-bill of rights and promote the killing of unborn American children, same as all democrat voters vote for.
