Friends about 9 yrs younger are dying off, cancer for the most of it.  A couple of months ago a old friend found he had 3 wks to live an died in 2.  Another fighting for his life for 4 years is back on the heavy chemo & down to 115lbs.  A sister-in-law is having breast cancer. Another found after this summer has 8 lesion's in her head & one on her spine causing some peralliss. And after all this last Friday I lost a very close friend that I've known over 50 years who got this flue crap that is really flying around here and he got really sick, little insu, stubborn, and real sick just a couple days and Friday was going to go to see a Dr. And had to go back in the house for something an clasped. 930 he died. The day before I had a couple beer in the kitchen with hi brother who is also very close.
Another friend lost his father-in-law last night with nemonia and he was only sick a couple days as well.   Please don't wait to do something for your self, as soon as you start getting sick start packing the crap down your your throat. Don't wait till your heart is to weak. And remember this is the time of year that nemonia takes a lot of lives.

It has been a rough winter around here too. Lot of sickness and a few young folks passing on before their time. My sister, who rarely gets sick, found herself in the emergency room and a short hospital stay last week from the flu bug and when released was told to stay home for two weeks.

Saw something mentioned on the news about a shot or a drug that reverses the flu symptoms in a day? Soon as the V A had the flu shot available I went and got mine. And try my damndest to steer clear of folks in public who are sniffling and coughing and such like. I hope this chit has run It's course by the time I go to the Doctor for my annual checkup. Lotsa sick folks at a doctors office!  Lips Sealed RIDE SAFE.

I understand.  I don't want to hijack your thread by talking about the death in my circles, but it seems to be a season of death.  Our pastors have had a heavy load with funerals this winter, and my wife, being the church administrator, has been busy behind the scenes helping coordinate between families, volunteers, and funeral homes.

Here too. I wish it wasn't so, but I've been losing friends far too often lately. All in my age group, which is mid 40s. Just lost another three days ago. Calling hours Friday.

I feel a bit messed up in the head lately, too. I'm in no hurry to die, but I'm far less scared of it as I get older. After all, a bunch of my friends are waiting for me there. Can't go yet (like I have a choice). I've got a son to raise.

The one thing I will always remember my  father telling me is that the hardest thing about
getting older is the loss of your friends and family.

Sad to say Shortleg but, I could not agree more! Like Gryphon said,"don't want to hijack your thread". It has been a season! In a matter of weeks, two of my sisters became widows. My heart aches for them both but, also I lost two very good friends. They were both 74yo, one from cancer the other heart issues. These two fine men were veterans and both served in the Vietnam war. I was closer to these men then I ever was with my blood brothers.  I will and do truly miss these men.
