Adirondacks 2009

Upstate New york

« on: March 03, 2018, 10:14:29 AM »

Hello, friends!

My name is Ramón, and I live in Salem, NY. This past fall I was riding the Appalachians and got as far as Asheville, NC when I was informed of a family emergency down in New Orleans. The short of the story is that I had to leave my bike down south at my Dad's house in Ridgeland, MS (just outside of Jackson, MS).

The part that is making this a bit difficult for me is that at the time of my ride I was towing my Unigo Trailer (53"Lx22"Wx33"H ~75lbs).

I was considering riding down at the end of March but weather can be so unpredictable. So, I am considering going with a Motorcycle Transport Service.

Does anyone have experience with any such service...POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE, that you would consier sharing with a fellow Valkyrie enthusiast?

Thank you for your help!

Ramon

Salem and the area northeast of Albany is beautiful country and the gateway to both the Adirondacks and the Vermont mountains area, sometimes I go up 22 on my way to Americade when I am not in a hurry

Both myself and Wild6 have ridden back from Houston (GOTF) from a few hours south of you and have not had snow after march 27.

Its a nice ride can be done in 2 days  My advice is just check the 10 day before you leave

I am in Ossining and am the NY rep so welcome to the family

I think I used Haulbikes based on a recommendation by Valker once in 2012 from Seattle to OssiningNY and once in 2010 from Santa Monica Ca to Ossining NY   It was less than it would cost me to ride and stay in motel. Just dont be in a hurry was my recollection and the driver of the rig had his goldwing in there so I knew he cared about bikes.
