I picked up a set of TBR pipes for very short money, spent some time cleaning them up.

They're not perfect, but are good enough for the next project bike that comes along.

My question is, how can I tell if there are baffles in them?

Stick a piece of wire down the end?

Actually, might be a good reason to buy one of those cameras on a bendy stick :)

All TBR six pack pipes have baffles and they are not removable

Thanks Jeff, I didn't know that.  First set I've had my mitts on.

On another note, I understand re-jetting might be necessary?

Enjoy the pipes. I just picked up an Interstate about a month ago. It had a set of the 2 brothers 6x6 on it and sounded bad ass! I'm pretty sure that he never jetted it because the headers are ridiculously purple. Unfortunately, this 50 year old man has damaged hearing and needs to preserve what's left of it, so I reinstalled the OEM mufflers that he gave me with the bike. Much quieter now, but damn do I miss that throaty growl!

So, would this mean that you have a set of Two Brothers pipes that could be for sale perhaps?  Inquiring minds may be interested...

Six pack pipes (TBR or Cobra) are not double wall constructed like OEM headers.  That's why they all turn blue like that. Eventually the bluing will lighten up to a tan color. Either way I kinda liked the blue headers.

II recently bought a 2003 Standard with the TBRs exhaust. These pipes are loud and I love the sound. The previous owner replaced the OEM filter with a K&N, but I've read that this is not recommended with these exhausts and to stay with OEM. Any one have any experience with this recommendation..?

Hi Hook, I am running TBR exhaust but mine are carbon fiber with a crossover pipe. Nice rumble and sounds like a small block Chevy WOT. I would like to meet you for a ride this summer.
Mark (Oxford MA) lets meet in Sturbridge.

Hey, Mark.  Definitely get together this summer.  I ride with Craig (Newvalker) once and awhile and we're heading to Inzane together.  He lives in Oxford also.

Looking forward to hearing those TBR's :cooldude:

I have TBR 6X6 and K&N filter on my Standard.  Been that way for well over 120,000 miles.  It runs well.

I ran Cobra's with the K&N with no loss of power or any other I'll effect for years.
