It is good.  Any rookie to congress generally doesn't get on the important committees (right away) and it takes years of seniority to get to any committee chairmanship.  

With any luck, he will be seen and not heard for some time.  Unfortunately, he gets to vote.

I will note the case of former Mayor of DC Marion Berry.  Now when he started out, he was actually a pretty good mayor, who cut G waste and did a lot of good for disaster-town DC.  But with power, fame and money he became a loose cannon.  After he was caught on tape, snorting big piles of coke and banging hookers, he was still reelected.  They loved him even more (a man of the people).

Serk, from a completely unbiased and open minded point of view (which I am certain you had too), that TX politician does look cave man-like (so far as any of us know what cave men actually looked like).  But he is (probably?) a black or Hispanic man, whereas the actor in the commercials is a made up white man.  And even though the TX politician really looks more cave man-like than the made up white man, you just cannot refer to any minorities in any humorous way about their looks, without incurring PC police correction.  Even if you meant no bias or racial thing about it at all.

Funny is funny.  Except some funny is PC restricted or prohibited.
