When it flash floods, you can't never tell what the creek might bring...

Once it flash flooded hard enough to, I guess, merge the creek and someone's
farm pond down the way, I got a 3 foot long bass.

Another time I got a hoover vacuum cleaner.

I'm not saying there's a lot of trash down there, just coyotes and beavers mostly.

The other day I saw this:

I reached down to pick it up, I thought it was a plastic can, like a brake fluid can or
something. But it is metal, and has a rusted out bottom and it is black.

Is it just some random product container with a funny shape, or is it something else?

Mike,

Whatever it is... don't use it to make coffee! Some folks have been known to use various containers for washing their unmentionables...! That item doesn't appear suitable for that purpose, but then again, some folks have really vivid imaginations, and they're very crafty, too... Risky for sure!

Yup, almost positive that's the innards of a cheap Tiki Torch... I have 'em scattered around the campsite at my land for light and mosquito repellent...

Be glad it's a creek.

Growing up on Lake Erie, I discovered drowned persons floating at the end of my dock, twice.

Both times, my dad had me go in and call the cops (and told me not to come back out).

I was good with that.
