The Credit Union here in town is not quite 2 miles from my front door. I have confirmation thru snail mail that I am now a member. The C U mailed my hard copy the 5th of this month which was Monday. I Just received my copy today-the 8th Thursday. ALL mail from Willow Springs Missouri goes to Springfield Mo. whether it's going cross country or cross town. AND the u s p s will more than likely DEMAND more money sometime sooner rather than later! My x b I l may have nailed it with this statement-an increasing share of a shrinking market.  RIDE SAFE.

We have the same type of problem here.   Seems that to mail a letter cross town, it has to go across the Cascades Mountains to Medford area some 80 miles away to be sorted and then returned here for dispersing across town.  Some great planning.  Might mention this time of year traveling over the Cascades can be bad, lots of snow pack and accidents.

Springfield Mo. Is near or a smidge more than 80 mile or so from Willow Springs Mo. While I am NOT sure I believe growing up-Round Lake Il.-it was sorted in the local post office and local mail stayed in R L for local delivery the next day BUT I could be wrong. Ross-da prez-and I have had decent results with the u s p s flat rate boxes for sending "stuff" to each other. I also KNOW others here have NOT had decent results with the u s p s. When the tracking number works and you "see" the travels involved it do make one question the sanity of the post office. Still wunderin WHY a part from Arkansas Had to go to Kansas to arrive here in Missouri?  Oh-WAIT-I KNOW this-da gubmint is involved!  RIDE SAFE.

   Here in Maryland  my car and bike parts will pass my house 3  times before getting
to my small town  post office then to my house.
