Chrome Brake and Clutch reservoirs

I have in my I/S and they are flaking the chrome (not sure when the previous owner installed them though).

I would stay with the OEM Honda original parts, they will last forever.

Previous attempts to chrome them requires removing the sight glass. Getting them back in without a leak is difficult.

At one time, Kuryakyn sold some chrome covers, allegedly for Valk reservoirs. 

I got some (long ago) and they didn't fit.  They gave me some stuff about interstate vs others, but they took them back.  My problems were one of many.  I don't know if they still do.

I think the better solution would be to remove the clear coat, and buff them up bright.  But the clear coat on them is as thick and HD as any I've ever seen.

I have some on mine. You have to make sure to get the right size 16mm I believe the 14mm ones don't move enough fluid to properly operate the clutch.

Also the clutch side is basically the exact same at the brake meaning all the nice chrome levers for the Goldwings and Valkyries will not work.

Oddly enough the ones made in China tend to hold up better than anything done in the U.S. due to lack of environmental regulations. They are able to still use all the chemicals and steps to get good chrome adherence. Just look at Harley parts mostly made/chromed in China.

Clean up your stock reservoirs.
Add chrome covers (Lids) and most importantly replace your Reservoir JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) Screws with 4mm X 12mm Chrome Allen Head Screws.
Bleed and topped off both Reservoirs and go for a ride, weather permitting.

The chrome covers are IMO junk they dont let the choke fully engage ...

When talking chrome covers on clutch/brake reservoirs, it's best to distinguish between chrome reservoir lids (only), or complete whole-housing reservoir covers. 

The Kury reservoir lids have always worked fine for me (and so has my three electrical toggle switch unit that sits on top one reservoir as a cover), but not the whole-housing covers.
