I've noticed over the years many of you know much more about Pop culture than I. I think it first started when you guys kept talking about some chick on some show called I think the Big Bang. I thought maybe I just don't watch much in the way of sitcoms since Seinfeld went off the air.  But now it's happening all over again with some chick called Samantha B. I'm not sure if I will ever be able to keep up on here.

 The show is called "Big Bang Theory". The "chick" is Kaley Couco. The show is on CBS on Thursday nights. I find it very funny. It runs in reruns on TBS. Which also has Samantha Bees show. Big bang is funny. Bee is not. You might like her show though.  She trashes Trump and anyone conservative on a regular basus....

The Big Bang show was funny for about 3-4 seasons and then all the dorks got girlfriends and married.
They lost their edge as true dorks and the premise of the show was lost; it degenerated into just another lame situation comedy.  Dweebs are only honorably funny if they hold their dweebdom in spite of repeated attacks of normalcy.  These dweebs surrendered to the power of the ----y and we all know where that leads to...dehorning and castration.

Now, on the topic of Samantha B...you just kicked another hornet's nest into a crowd of coyotes, sir.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE ignorant- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

The few times I have seen it, I found it mildly funny in spots.  Most of it was inane low brow humor, in my opinion.  I don't watch much tv.  I spend hours watching Youtube, though, and even more time reading.
