Gowdy told "Fox News Sunday" that House Speaker Paul Ryan led a meeting with FBI and DOJ officials on Friday night and "made very clear there's going to be action on the floor of the House this week if FBI and DOJ do not comply with our subpoena request."

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes said Sunday that "there will be hell to pay" — including impeachment for top Justice Department officials — if the agency fails this week to give Congress documents about an FBI informant used to spy on the Trump campaign.

Second FBI Informant Tried To Entrap Trump Campaign With $2 Million Offer For Hillary Dirt: Roger Stone

Trump campaign aides Roger Stone and Michael Caputo say that a meeting Stone took in late May, 2016 with a Russian appears to have been an "FBI sting operation" in hindsight, following bombshell reports in May that the DOJ/FBI used a longtime FBI/CIA asset, Cambridge professor Stefan Halper, to perform espionage on the Trump campaign.

The meeting went nowhere - ending after Stone told Greenberg "You don't understand Donald Trump... He doesn't pay for anything." The Post independently confirmed this account with Greenberg.

My concern is that the House does not have the guts to do anything much less the right thing.

I seem to remember a lot of tin foil posts in the past. Comey and his buddies may need much more than foil hats.

Don't put those hats away just yet, my friend.....

Gowdy doesn't have a particularly high batting average.

Way too much CYA going on.
Put the truth out there and let the chips fall where they may.
I don't care what side of the aisle the parties represent.

Regardless of a person's position on any topic, our elected leadership owes us honest and lawful actions.  We haven't gotten that in a significant period of time (if ever).

Just the information that's out now is proof enough that no foil hats were needed.

If it takes not having to worry about votes to finally find his balls, then I'm doubly glad Paul Ryan decided to not run for re-election. Ryan was very intelligent and great with numbers, but ineffective in his job. In the private sector that usually gets you fired, not promoted to Speaker of the House. Maybe in these final months he'll actually accomplish something besides blending into the Swamp.

..

I am NOT trying to stir the pot.

What has Gowdy got accomplished?

In a related story, hell appears to be cooling;

BRUSSELS (AP) The Latest on the immigration debate in Europe (all times local):

9:00 p.m.

Experts within the Council of Europe are asking Hungarian lawmakers to delay passage of a bill that would penalize people who assist refugees with up to a year in prison.

Venice Commission chief Gianni Buquicchio told Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto on Monday that Hungary's parliament should wait until the commission publishes recommendations on the so-called "Stop Soros" bill or at least take into account the preliminary views already shared with Hungarian officials.

The pending bill is named for Hungarian-American financier George Soros, who Hungary's government accuses of supporting mass migration to Europe and backing civic groups that provide legal aid to asylum-seekers and refugees.

The bill and a constitutional amendment that is designed in part to bolster the government's anti-immigration policies are expected to be approved Wednesday.

Makes no difference that he is not running, he still will not do what needs to be done. To many ties, to many favors, to much money still to be made.  The professional politician serves himself first, pretending to serve the people.  He will never cut off the hand(s) that feed him

Personally, I believe that somebody has the goods on him, and most everybody else in Congress. As with the IRS-it's just a matter of using it against only one side.
