Inzane 19 ?

I forget when the location for the next Inzane comes out. September, October  ? I'm already looking forward to it. Especially now that Serk is buying 3fans bike and letting Kali ride it out.

Last year the first teasing and hints started late August with confirmed and official announcement of location September 30th.

But yeah, I'm eager to start thinking of planning a maybe hope I can make it next year sorta thing.

First hint I could find:

We haven't seen you at InZane in awhile, it wound nice to have your attend!  We are looking at two locations right now.  If you were to travel to the further of the two in one day, you could almost get an Iron Butt... almost.  Both locations are East of Ol' Man River.

That must be two guesses. 
VA Tech is in Blacksburg... already eliminated.

I think you are good. The odds of your red ones must be pretty slim. I assume Canada is out for you also ? It's going to get expensive flying 2 bikes to AK.  (my unrealistic goal this year will be to beat you by 3.4 seconds in the guessing game)

I believe it was 2400 ish each way....we ended up with about 6400 total

I went to Billings with DDT  The 1900 miles each way turned into 7500 total AND ENJOYED EVERY MILE OF IT!!

I'm assuming it will be east of the Mississippi due to the greater number of VRCC members located in that region rather than west of the Mississippi.  Also, more northerly than southerly due to the heat at that time of the year.

Distance doesn't really doesn't matter to the Texas contingent as we expect to ride 1000-1500 miles one way to any location selected and will still have one of the largest numbers of riders at the event, no matter the distance.

Ditto the 2900 miles each way (my actual routes turned into 3200 mi there and 3400 mi return) when I attended 2017 in Morgantown....plus the miles I put on riding during Inzane. I did enjoy every one of them. Sadly, one of the reasons I decided to skip Roanoke this year was that for me, I would have taken basically the same routes to fit it into my schedule, and since the ride there and back is a big part of the whole experience for me, I opted to concentrate on a 14 day trek with the Mrs later this Summer instead... in addition to our just completed and extended-by-a-day Valhalla gathering. I did miss being at Inzane however, so I'm hoping 2019 will be in a location that offers me a new and exciting route to ride to.

I made a suggestion at Inzane 18 of Inzane 19 at Seven Springs Ski Resort in Somerset, Pa. to Motormama.  If that doesn't pan out, how about Flagstaff AZ, New Mexico, or Texas Hill country?  I know Flagstaff somewhat and there are some excellent roads and scenery nearby.  Been to Albuquerque and southern CO which was nice.  I'm not familiar with THC and what is there for conference facilities.  I'm looking forward to it no matter where it is.

I was mainly speaking to the Texas Hill Country... The other two are probably not too bad for the location, although there'd be a lotta folks not necessarily used to riding through super hot areas riding through super hot areas to get to 'em.

Although many in Ontario and Quebec like to think at times that they are the only citizens of relevance in this country  , the fact is there is a whole lot more of us Canucks west of the Ontario border that enjoy coming to Inzane as well. I don't mind riding distances (heck, PA is only 2500 miles or so from here)...I just thought I'd remind ya that we're a BIG country up here. Our government and those darn Easterners (again... ) already forget about us humble Westerners...we don't need our VRCC bretheren doing the same

I had a work trip to Pittsburgh about 15 years ago, before GPS navigation was common.  I flew into the international airport and rented a car to get to my downtown hotel and to drive around when not working.  Boy, was it difficult to get to where I wanted to go.  I had spent the evening at The Waterfront, east of downtown, and remembered crossing Boulevard of the Allies while downtown earlier in the day, so when I saw Boulevard of the Allies on the map leading into downtown, I thought, perfect, that'll take me back to my hotel.  Boy was I wrong.

I got on westbound Boulevard of the Allies, heading towards downtown, and when I'm almost in the downtown triangle, all-of-a sudden the road decides it does not want to go further, and gives me a choice of going north, which I didn't want to do, or take the other path to a couple of highway numbers and a bridge, but without any indication of direction.  I chose the unspecified direction.  BIG mistake.  It spun me around so I was heading south, forcing me to cross a long bridge that took me to the other side of a wide river, where I was immediately faced with a tunnel entrance that I didn't want to go into.  There was a turnoff to the right, immediately before the tunnel entrance, but it was blocked with construction barricades, so into the tunnel I went.  A FULL MILE later, I came out of the tunnel into a different world, the tall downtown buildings completely out of sight.

I hung a quick right off of the main road to find a place to stop and check my map, but found myself in a light industrial area with many old brick buildings and every so often a group of gangsta-looking men hanging around, so I didn't stop.  I got turned around, and made my way to a road that seemed to be going in the right direction, north, down a wooded valley towards the river.  There wasn't much traffic, so I pulled over to check my map.  As I was doing this, a police car pulled up behind me, and lit me up.

I was told it wasn't the best neighborhood to be stopped in, and they offered to lead me to where I needed to go, taking me to a bridge that took me back into downtown.

On the morning I left for the airport, I asked a man on the sidewalk how to get to Fort Duquesne Blvd, but was laughed at when I pronounced it, "doo-kess-nee," and was then told how to get to "doo-kane."

I think InZane typically gets more riders from western Canada than eastern Canada, even when the event is in the east, so between North Carolina and Pennsylvania, for instance, won't make a lot of difference in Canadian attendance.
