How many Valkyries can we get there?
Sunday October 7th at noon.
Baraboo is the town.
The Log Cabin is the place.
We have met some new Valkyrie owners and wanted to give them the chance to meet other Valkyrie owners.
The Log Cabin has a large parking lot, so please park in the back.
It is located on Hwy 33.
Very good food, if you want to eat.
This is really just to meet, kick some tires and tell some lies.
Also out of state riders are welcome. (We have some that come from IL & MN)

The Log Cabin does have great food I will see if I can make it.
Let's RIDE

Not sure. I may be hunting.  Not particularly in going to Baraboo. I think youd get more of us Northern boys if it was around Wausaw.

Greg,
I understand why you would like the get together in your area, but you have to think about the logistics involved.
The majority of the Wisconsin members on the current list that Don and Barb have are from the southern half of the state, along with several from northern Illinois.

Don and Barb, and other Wisconsin VRCC members have been collecting a list of Valk owners for a long time. I do not know exactly how many active members are from the north half of the state, but I would be willing to bet that it is not many, probably less than five, and we do not have email addresses for most of them, and it does not seem that they frequent the VRCC board.

As it is, this get together is located pretty close to the center of the majority of members on the current list. My recommendation to you would be to start gathering information from Valk owners as you meet them, and send the information to Don and Barb (or create your own list) so they can be included in future correspondence. If we get more members from up north that seem interested, I am sure the location can be modified to better accommodate those on the list as it changes.

Meanwhile, ride safe, and I hope to see you in Baraboo.

Jack,
Tell the rest of the guys from Two Rivers area to come along. It would be great to see them again.

thedon

Greg,
Right now I have 35 on my email list. I think you and one or two others are from Northern Wisconsin. Some on our list are from Surrounding states. Like Jim said we try to pick a central location. Hopefully you can make it. Would like to swap stories with you again.

da prez

I am going to try. Wife is having a knee replaced and I hope I can find someone to stay with her. She refuses to ride that far.  :crazy2:

Oh ya, that could be doable. If the weather is good, not worried about temp, just don't want to ride in the rain. Ross I'll call you to see if we could ride togeather. Would like to meet and talk to the others in the general area!

Jack B

That's the same day as the Slimey Crud Run.
Might be able to do the first part of the Slimey and then meet up for lunch.

That would be cool.
Weather says, for now, little rain in morning. Thunder showers in the evening. Highs in mid sixies.
We are looking for a good turnout.
By the way, Log Cabin does not take reservations. First come first served.

Jack B

The weather is looking better for Sunday.

dont feel bad, when the new england crew has their monthly breakfast meeting most come by car, it just aint safe when the roads are slick with snow and ice.

I have taken a cage to a few especially when it is a day or so after a snowstorm

Rain however doesnt seem to stop new englanders

G-man wont come anymore since we went to one on the bikes in Danbury when the temp was 18 degrees

glad you all made it home safe.

did anyone stop beforehand at the slimy crud run near Madison?

would be curious to know turnout of that as well since normally is packed full of 100's of cycles knowing the weather was less than ideal drizzling/raining almost all day long.

Had to on Saturday change oil on the SUV while Sunday changing oil on the car as well.  In a few more weeks changing oil on the 3rd car as well being the kids.  70 mile days everyday does not take long to put on 5000 miles between oil changes.

It could have been a better day though since the Packers stunk it up as well loosing to the lonely Lions... or should I say Mason Crosby did missing 4 field goals and an extra point which could have won the game for them.  Or, better yet, how about the crappy offense NOT scoring so many times moving the ball and having to always settle for a field goal.

I thought the forecast originally for Sunday was NO rain mid-day but that turned out to be totally wrong as well much like coming home today and sun was out but hitting RAIN downpours off and on all of a sudden.  NO MORE RAIN had enough my sump pump is running pretty much non-stop the past few weeks luckily noticing last week the float switch did not work waking up at 4:30 a.m. to hear gurgling since sump pump would not stop running.  Luckily, I had an extra float bowel to hookup but sucks getting up before 5 a.m. to fiddle with it for 1 hour before normally getting up for work.  I have 2 backup new sump pumps but NO MORE float bowel switches so bought a backup of those as well seems the float switch inside the bowel goes bad well BEFORE the 1/2 hp sump pump fails.  I should not say that out loud for the sump pump replacing is more of a hastle than just the float bowel itself.

da prez

I was thru Madison twice on Sunday. :o I saw only one other bike on the road. :2funny: In a three hundred mile run , I saw a total of four bikes on the road. :crazy2: I guess some were smart enough to stay put. ;D  I have ridden in a lot worse  :D, but it is the joy of being on a bike.  :smitten:
