My Goldwing buddy showed me a $25 Walmart item he swears by..picked one up today and it seems pretty nice--some nice padding with a central cut-thru :cooldude:

really?  you do know the goldwing or valkyrie seat is 4x's the size of a bicycle seat pad.

best to find an airhawk seat cushion IMO used for 40-50 bucks like I did that will actually cover most _utts...

I do have those 15 dollar schwinn (mfg. may vary) gel seat pads on my BICYCLE work well would not live without one on any bicycle helps a ton though.  Just an fyi when I rode bicycle a lot when kids were younger, the gel inside sort of gets bad (disintegrates/degrades) if driving bike when wet all the time coming back from chlorine swimming pool in town.  Have gone thru about 1 every few years/summers.

I'm thinking silk briefs is the answer....way too much conflict and friction between the boys and sweaty cotton. Never tried them mind you, but I'm thinking that might just be the real ticket.
Hundreds of bucks for the perfect seat vs $40 for the silk....no cheap synthetic imitations.

85%cotton/15% poly briefs will keep one dry and cool.  colder riding poly goes to 35-50% plus the cotton.  100% is always the wrong choice unless in extreme hot temps and one is able to water/wet the cotton all the time. wet cotton draws the heat out of the body.

I work in hot conditions at times and have worn those styles in the video for years (not each pair) and they are great.....Cotton = wet sweet and chafing

for the record silk boxers are to slippery on the bike ;)

the pad I am referring to is about a foot wide with nice round crowns for the butt bones to set down on and a nice groove  centrally ..it sat just fine on my buddy's Goldwing and my Valkyrie...oh well

I guess it would work since the bicycle gel seat pads I am thinking of fit a normal size bike seat being too skinny, not the WIDE version.  Apparently Schwinn makes an extra wide gel seat pad.  I guess it would work then if wider/bigger.

You guys should try sheepskin boxers - wouldn't they be the best of both worlds?  I tried to find a picture, but to no avail.  Not sure if the wool would go in or out for best results, but in any case, I'm not volunteering to clean them for you.  :P

If I haul out the sewing machine and make myself a pair I'll model them for y'all while they're still new.

They would be too big/fat/fluffy to go under (any normal) pants, so they need to be sheepskin shorts to wear over your pants. Maybe like sheepskin lederhosen.

What a fashion statement.   ;D

Have been wearing UnderArmor shorts for years on all of my longer rides in particular.  By far the most effective and comfortable solution ....especially in warmer weather. Can  ride all day without issues. Coupled with my Airhawk (newer version), seat pad on my 15 year old Corbin seat,  this combination has beaten out several other seat options I've tried over the years.

google "Bell 750 memory cruiser"--it's pretty good and relatively cheap considering buying new seats that are $1k or more..if you don't like it my wife puts it on our wooden stool to watch the T.V. at the breakfast nook

boy this one got hijacked a bunch,, i took that gel pad i bought at wal mart and put it in my seat,,,cut out about 3/4 inch deep and set the pad in there, and put the cover back on,, my butt is a happy rider again...
