Sorry to hijack. Russ was a great guy and I've been missing him on here for a while. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

This news is a kick where it hurts most. At least now he is pain free and Forever in the Wind. I'll miss you BRO!  :'( I read this notice in the morning and I'm STILL tryin to wrap my head around it with no success.  R I P Russ.

that truly sucks,  so many people I have heard of retiring recently and a few months later pass on not able to even enjoy retirement working all their lives instead.  Makes one think of retiring the earlier, the better to actually have some free time to do the bucket list items.

Such sad news for those of us who will miss Russ.  Cancer sucks.

Just saw this, and I'm feeling what everyone who knew Russ is... Dang! We've lost a good one for sure. I'm glad I had the chance to know him. I'm also glad I had a chance to tell him how much I thought of him, too... while he was still with us. RIP, my friend.

See ya down the road...

I am getting ready to leave for the service for Russ. Beautiful weather , but a torn leg muscle will keep me from riding.

In my head, I'm tongue twisted as to what to say about "Wiggy" passing. I never say much when it comes to death ..... even though I have strong beliefs about it. I can never think up anything intelligent to say that would be comforting so I just leave it alone. I can't speak for anyone but me and I have to say, I find regardless of how I believe and the comfort that brings ...... it's still a punch in the stomach when someone I know dies.
I've only met Russ a few times at the rallies, bantered back and forth on this forum some ...... can I call him a friend .......? The way I felt reading of his passing I think I can.
I didn't really know anyone at the rallies and they didn't know me, even so, everyone treated me well for which I was grateful. Then there were those that really made me feel welcome and comfortable ...... Russ being one of them and I will never forget that!

I hope for the best for his family and friends .......

I couldn't have said it better. He was one of those rare dudes that was just a kind, gracious person. He will be missed by many I'm sure.

Ross-da prez-and I rode with Russ broke bread with him and visited him last year last at his casa. Gonna miss the phone calls back and forth. Ross left me a voice mail bout an hour ago and he told me it would be AWHILE before he got into the Chapel for the service. He-Ross-said it's THAT crowded. Sounds like he-Russ-had Friends besides his Valkyrie Family. Why am I NOT surprised? Definitely one of the kindest gentlest souls it's Ever been my Good fortune to not only meet-but to be Friends with! If GOD were needing a kind hearted emissary he got one with Russ!

At the service for Russ  I got in line. It was  forty five minutes to greet the family. Marlene remembered when Dennis and I visited about a year ago. We had talked to Russ a couple times since. I got to meet the daughters and family. He has grandchildren that were as pretty as his daughters.
It is hard to express my feelings . Russ was always generous with his life.
The amount of visitors was over whelming. There was a video of his life and family and friends . It seems so little for so much. Russ touched a lot of lives.

I am sure the highway he rides is smooth and no one will make a left turn in front of him.

As I was walking out , the waiting line must have been over an hour long. THIS -is how he touched everyone. :smitten:
