Well it's been one week since I went under the knife. I have to say the first 5 days were really tough for me. Couldn't find any comfortable way to sit or sleep. Plus I couldn't take a crap as well. Today as been my best day so far. I actually feel better than I did before the surgery. I can walk around my yard with no sciatica pain. I will get my staples out next Wednesday and then it will feel so good to get into the shower again. I went out into the garage and started up the bike and let it run up to temperature. I really felt I could have jumped on and go for a ride. I know better of course. Doctor said I could be on it in 6 weeks.
Looking forward to some great riding this year.

Ride safe my friends.

Glad you are feeling better Dave  :cooldude:

Great news Dave, but a week without a shower must make you persona non grata at home.  :-\

;D probably makes him persona non grata everywhere. When I lived in Alaska and would go out hunting for a week or more, one of the greatest feelings in the world was finally getting a shower. Baby Wipes only go so far. I'm really glad you both are feeling better after your surgeries.  :cooldude:

Good to hear you are doing better.  Sounds like the worst is over and you're on your way to a full recovery.
Just in time for the riding season  :cooldude:

Sounds like a great outcome. Be easy and do what the doctors say.  :cooldude:

Hey Dave, I'm happy to hear that you are doing well.  I'm going in for Spinal Fusion this Friday, not looking forward to the recovery time. I also have a brace to wear. My Doc said no bike for Months..

Hi Tom, My doctor said I could be on my bike in 6 weeks but I'm not going to push it. All I can say is don't be a hero and take the pain meds. He has me on 10-325 Norcos. I take one every 6 hours but will take it sooner if necessary. I even set my alarm for my late night dose. I'm feel much better now and can feel the benefits already. I only wear my brace during the day not when I'm in bed. I'm not going to lie, the first 5 days where rough for me but not everyone is the same. I think the one of the worst things was not being able to poop for the first 4 days. Get yourself some prune juice and oatmeal for breakfast. It's amazing how much a person uses there back mussels in just doing the simplest things.

I'm sure you'll do well Tom and will be back in the saddle in a few months.
