Will try for Rt 1 north to 4 Corner's Park in Madawaska and on to Fort Kent at the border....
Then Rt 11 south down through no-man's-land and back to civilization....
Fill saddlebags with food before the venture begins !!!

Rte 11 No man's land. My former boss has 250 acres in Crystal, ME. 6 hours one way to get 700 bales of hay. Always a steak and bourbon after the trailer was loaded.

Just looked at the map. Wow you aren't kidding when you call route 11 a No Mans' Land. Better gas up in Fort Kent before the ride. 

When Scottie and I were coming back from the Gaspe Peninsula ride, we crossed into the U.S. at Van Buren and overnighted in Caribou. Next day we rode Rte 1 to Bar Harbor and met up with Terry. Beautiful ride on Rte 1. Never been or Rte 11.

Been to Madawaska and Edmundston in the dead of winter for a meeting with the paper-mill that sits on both sides of the border. Had to cross into Canada to attend the meeting. What an interesting community up there. Totally integrated between the U.S. and Canada.

If you fail to gas up in Fort Kent before turning left on Rt 11, you could easily end up pushing your bike for quite a stretch......
Traveling through Portage & Ashland on a Sunday afternoon, you are taking a chance the limited
gas stops will be open. These are family owned Mom & Pop small stores with maybe 2 pumps.....
So yeah, a fuel stop in Fort Kent is a must.....besides, Rich will need to replenish the snacks / meals
in his saddlebags !!!!
