Debating selling my Valkyrie, I don't think I am going to be able to ride. With chemo treatments in the future just do not know what the out come is going to be. Hoping for a full recovery but that is an unknown at present. Possibly looking for a reasonable priced trike. Just hate to let the bike sit for an extended time.

There is one (Valk trike) in Pampa, TX with 19,500 miles for $7500. Contact the shop (it's a consignment) in Pampa at 806-478-1101. They are open Tues-Friday 9-6 and Saturday 9-12. I have ridden it, and it runs VERY well.

Sorry to hear of this possible decision, but it could be for the best. At least with the Trike, you will still be able to be in the wind. I am completely aware that I will someday have to make that decision myself. With any luck at all, it will be a few years yet.

Bill, glad you are back home and hope you fully recover in time, maybe wait a little longer before selling your Valk, either way if there is anything we can do to help just let us know

I'm sad of your possible decision, but like a lot of aging Valkyrie riders a trike is in our futures. Patti and I have discussed just that scenario. I hope it doesn't come to that for both you and me, for a while to come. Get well soon.

It's great your home. I agree with waiting to sell. You're going to have a rough road ahead, but you'll get through it. You don't want to regret selling to soon, there's time. Get through this first, you have plenty of friends and people to help in anyway we can. All the positive thoughts and prayers really helped me get through my treatments. I know you'll get there too. Lots of support heading your way.

I'm glad you are back home where I'm sure you want to be.  I wish you the best recovery possible too, Grumpy.  I too think you have time to decide when to sell the Valk.  However, that decision is yours to make.  At almost 71, my legs aren't as strong as they used to be and a few years ago I bought a used 1994 Goldwing trike.  Now, when my wife rides with me, we take it.  It's actually pretty cool to ride.  You don't have to worry about loosing your balance when stopping and starting out.  Of course, you can't lean in turns like on a bike.  I still ride my Valk when I can and weather permitting.  IMHO, I have the best of both worlds.  Ride safely, everyone.

Same here, 75 years old, legs are going. After the surgery legs are really bad, hoping some strength comes back. But with the cancer things are up in the air for now, hoping for a good outcome but time will tell.

I remember one of the first times I meet you, I was looking at your Red Black IS and you had no problem reading my face,  well maybe my drool! Your response, forget it, it is not for sale!  I suppose a partial rim swap plus cash is the same response.

Not a thing in the world the matter with a trike. I just had that conversation with VTX Bill. At 78 he hates to give up the bike but knows if he wants to continue to ride in the wind it will be on a trike! Prayers for both of you as Bill is recovering too!

Right now every thing is on hold, going in for a Pet SCAN later this month, will tell what kind of treatment I need. I know radiation and chemo are coming but until after the scan will not know what level of treatment I need. Hoping for good results, will tell what my future holds. On a strange note, a group of surgeons and hematologists had a conference in Tampa last week and I was the main subject, they were trying to find out why in the bad shape I was in that i tolerated the major surgery as well as I did. Seems that a lot do not survive the process more than a week or so. Guess I am just a stubborn SOB. I feel pretty decent, even managed to get the transom installed in the clipper. Wife gets on my but for doing stuff like that, but sitting around here I was getting a little stir crazy.  May even take a drive over to lake Shipp for the meet on the 17th. Just need to go some where besides a doctors office.

There's nothing so great as being a source of confusion and consternation to a pile of doctors.  How did that man survive our work?

Trying to make the best of what I can right now. I have pictures of what came out of me and I wonder how I made it also.  Was in bad shape, first 2 days in the hospital i received 12 pints of whole blood and 6 pints of plasma, I was bleeding to death.  That is why i was unconscious at home when Anna called the paramedics. They said in the hospital another hour I would not have made it due to the massive blood loss. I don't even remember the ambulance ride, woke up in the emergency room with iv's everywhere. The good lord was watching over me that day.
