My initiation to the Valkyrie is that I rented one on Vacation.
So from then, I knew I wanted one. But for me, none the color schemes rang my bell.
How 'bout a solid pearl white? Or candy red?  or solid silver?...
I waited a year, then another year.. then another, hoping Honda would come out with a color that I liked.
Finally the '99 silver and black came up, and I knew... thats the one.. (I am a sucker for black and silver)

I dragged my feet for months.., but then one day I decide to take a look at my dealer. I had bought several bikes there, so they already knew me. - Then damn, nothing on the floor. So my sales buddy asks me what I am I looking for? I tell him, (black and silver) and informs me that the standards are on sale - $9999. Ho boy, talk to me.... MSRP for the bike at the time was $13999. Why I was dragging my feet...
He said they might have one in a crate..... I thank him and go home.... 2 days later.. He call about lunchtime and says...."Hey, we found a black and silver in a crate, and put is all together for you to look at. Come take it out for the afternoon."  --- Me thinks... Holy Sh!t, talk about a casting a hook for a big fish! - ;D- Yeah, I rode it, and hell yeah... I bought it...  :cooldude:

Thanks ... It's been a good one ( fingers crossed ) .

Had one of the rarer ones, Black with a Red Skunk Stripe.   Loved it dearly but, it fell victim to my crash last September.   Told the wife I needed another once I was able to ride again.   Found six different ones and asked her to look and choose the one she liked best.

She picked another rare color scheme that wasn't my favorite at the time but, I've come to really like it.   It definitely stands out on it own even when in a group of beautiful Valkyries.

I'm partial to the green & silver interstates and the blue & white standards. But, I've always thought the 2001 Cheyenne red & black interstates were the sharpest. (Maybe cause you don't see that many of them)

msb

Ya sure.... Ok... I guess  ;)

Here in BC though, the best colour for an Interstate is Red, Black, and Chrome of course ;D Never tire of bringing that beautiful paint to its ultimate shine.

Even though this colour combo is the most common for the IS, up here where  Valkyries are a much rarer breed overall, it is not common at all, and stands out in a crowd every time.

LTD

ok msb gonna have to add your bike to the list pretty spectacular.

Oss

Had to get this bike from NJF6cowboy when he needed to sell it even though I have not put many miles on it
It is candy apply red with carbon fiber graphics design

But that is because I ride this one almost every weekend and on all my trips
2001 Pearl black and tan (or whatever they call it)

I love the jade bikes and the reverse 01 interstates as well as any black and yellow bike like the one Hotglue sold to Willow

Half Breed and Hayhauler's blue with racing stripe and Lamonts old Valk would round out my list

I think they call it champagne. I've always thought Stan's bike was one of the sharpest. I'm glad you got it !

Of course, black is not a color, and there are thousands out there.

But my favorite is the little black (and chrome) dress IS (with the truck chopped off):

My bike, back when it had nitrous and Bakers.  And still has the pinstriping.

Uh, no, we can't.  There are too many good Valkyrie color schemes for many to agree on favorites.  There are some really cool custom paint jobs.  Valkyries are good looking bikes.  Whatever colors one wraps around them may contribute to the beauty but does not primarily make it.

I have a Blue and White.  I love its look.  I have a Green and Beige Interstate.  I like its appearance but it will soon change.  I've put too many green and beige bikes on the ground.  My favorite these days tends to be my custom painted Valkyrie.

That is a great pic... the fog sets off that colour perfectly...

G-Man

I think I saw Punisher on a RED over BLACK interstate.  There was a guy here a while back, HotRod from Vegas I believe, he had one too.

Pearl Cheyenne Red / Gloss Black.  I know the pic is small, but the ONLY thng I would change is the front fender.  For some reason, they put the Black on the top and Red on the sides.  I think they should have done the fender with the red on top and black on the sides.

F6Dave

I liked the green and silver, even though they made a lot of them.  Mine's in that row below.

Even though it was only a standard or tourer, nobody even mentions the white and purple they made in '97.  I've only seen one I can remember but I liked it a lot.

Reb

Although I don't own it anymore, it was my pride and joy from 2009-2014, I've always appreciated the Blue & Cream Standard turned tourer,

Maybe Cookiedough will allow me to purchase it back from him someday  ;D

I kinda favor the all black 'n chrome, but the one color that really hit home was the big red "PAID" stamp on the contract when I bought it. As for the various colors of all the Valks, it brings to mind an old song from Finian's Rainbow: "When I'm not near the girl that I love, I love the girl that I'm near." In this case, the "girl" is the "Phat Lady" we all love. Given the opportunity and right price, I'd take any of them in any color....(bikes, not girls).  ;)

Gryphon Rider

I like most Valkyrie OEM colour schemes.  The '97 red & white was my early favourite, but the red & black of mine has overtaken it in my eyes.  The rare colours that I like are the copper & black available on the F6C in Europe, and the '97 purple & white.

One unique custom paint job that I loved was Wayne's (of Wayne's World in Washington state, RIP) purple on white flame job.  Can anyone post a picture of that?  I have a photo or two buried somewhere at home that I took with my film camera when I visited him in 2003 (I think) to buy a windshield-mounted clock, but it would be nice to see the bike if someone has a pic online somewhere.

RainMaker

The best color is usually the color of the one (or more) that you own.  Mine is the Interstate Blue/Silver. I think it's the best.

This is my favorite color combination.  Just wished they did the front fender with red on top and black on the sides.

My favorite Interstate color too, but I'm biased!

Well, since everbody is posting up photos of their bike, here's mine.
On the dunno why column, I dunno why I am not really a fan of the 2 color fender style, or all the cream kinda 50s style stuff. Seems to emulate 50s cars n stuff...
Seemingly along with dunno.... the Interstate itself never really grabbed me...

And still my favorite custom... still blame thing for my whackjob teardown...
. While I'm kabitzing... I like the shape of the standard tank far better than the shape of the interstate.
You can see the difference, my bike has the stock standard, and the custom has the interstate...

And I'm still bonkers crazy about the rear fender job. Very cool.

-- I wonder waht happened to the bike?

I like my Black and Chrome. And my Blue and White. But I like them all.

These are two of the sharpest Valkyries I have ever seen.

Really like the Harley Street Glide tailight/turn signal/licence plate light conversion.
@larue - how did you do that? I was considering the same for my custom standard.. I dont care much for the stock Valk parts on that. I considered buying a spare fender to play around with the idea. I see you have the Valk front half fender.

I never liked the rear light set up on the Valk. Always thought it's too busy. That's still original valk fender with oem light bar and stop light removed then sheet metal welded on the holes and put Harley lights on it including the facia around the fender

Got any photos of your progress while working?  I was originally thinking that I would have to machine some kind of bracket to get it together. -- I would keep the bike it the stripped standard bagless mode...  8)
