Destination will be Sophia's but there is also the Space Diner if you choose.
Idea is to stay off the Freeway as much as possible Just like last year.
After lunch return through Wickenburg Via Vulture Mine Rd.
Maybe Ron will lead after lunch since I pick the wrong turns going that way...lol

Ok, let me get my map.  My map says Vulture mine road is south of Gila Bend. Oh wait a minute my map was upside down. Let me move to the other side of the table. I'm looking at old US 80 and there is now a mountain in the middle of the road and this huge circle that I can't see how I'm going to get out of it.  Oh never mind, that was just a ketchup stain and the coke can ring that happened the last time I used this map. Maybe I should just use the almost reliable Honda built in GPS. Let see if Honda trip planner is on line today. Sometimes it is and sometimes it is not. Ok I got in and plan the route and it looks pretty good with only 6 U-turns and estimated 20 hours to get there.  Tom are sure you want me to lead the group after lunch?

Tom and I just did this route on December 1st. Some of the washes on old US 80, Vulture mine road, and 355 avenue had debris on the the road way. All of them were passable as long as you slowed down and some cases way down.  As long as we don't have any major flooding until NYD I think we will be OK.

Hey Big Tom - Cheryl and I were really looking forward to the NYD ride this year. Unfortunately, it is starting to look doubtful. I had a hip go bad about 4 months ago and have seen several doctors. They cannot seem to agree on what the issue is or how to treat. Anyhow, I went in Christmas Eve to get an X-ray guided injection and I was hoping that I would be good to go by NYD.  Not looking very promising.  So, if we are there by KSU, then fine, if not, don't wait for us.  Have a fun and safe ride if we aren't able to make it. It just sucks getting old - definitely not for the faint of heart...

Sorry to hear Tim. I was looking forward to seeing you two.  Those injections sometime take a few days for full effect so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
