I looked around on my computer for jpegs in an out-of-any-logical-order
fashion and came up with these...

South Carolina back roads... this is bales of cotton that is picked and ready
to haul off...

Sometimes there's a drought, sometimes not...

A whole bunch of us rode to Gettysburg once... me and Stanley Steamer rode
over to The East Cavalry Field which is separate from the main
battlefield area. Wade Hampton was seriously wounded here...

Gordon is a natural for pictures...

But he's not the only one...

Somewhere in North Georgia, I think, back before everyone traded in their Valkyries for
Goldwings  ;) ...

Ahhhh....

One of the West Virginia rides...

Gorton's of Gloucester fisherman...

Us motorcycle riders got soaked, but at least this feller remembered to roll his window up!

It is fun to imagine what Britman might be thinking...

Always enjoy your pics Mike  :cooldude: I wish I was better at capturing good pics.

This was our first ride with some VRCC guys and gals. I was a little apprehensive that we wouldn't fit in. They welcomed us warmly, and felt part of the group after that ride to Utah.

This was on a ride Oss put on a few years back. After flying all night, picking up a Goldwing rental, riding thru NYC , errantly following some random GW riders instead of OSS's group, we equally felt welcome.

This was part of Mark's "hill climb" ride. After the initial wonder if the Southerners were leading the Yankees to slaughter, equally felt at home.

Well, this one speaks for itself.

The VRCC has been good to us.  :cooldude:

He stays busy, but still loves his Valkyrie and was at the Fall Color ride...

I remember as a kid standing on one of those things. Big difference is I held the reins while staring at a mule's butt, all the while yelling gee or haw....in hopes the mule would do my beckoning.

For you city slickers....haw is left, gee is right.  ;)

Skinhead

I never learnt to speak mule.  Thanks for the lesson.

:2funny:  I didn't learn to speak mule, they learned to speak english. It's not only used for horses and mules, also used by dog sled owners and many other applications of the sort.

My grand-daughter gave me this hug bug in 2007 its been there ever since.

D Block cell # 28 home to James Earl Ray at Historic Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary .

This place and the city next door to my hometown ( Oak Ridge, TN ) has a lot in common. What I thought was crazy if you come into this town on one end its got guard shacks you must go through. If you come in from the other end no guard's anywhere. I'm thinking if I was a terrorist I'd come into town on the end with no armed guards.

Crazyhouse . I'd bet anyone alive today will never see this completed.

Pretty random pictures I have hundreds.

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

f6john

I visited Oak Ridge as a teenager in the 1960's on a school field trip. It was pretty impressive for a country boy from Kentucky. At the time the roads were fairly primitive (no interstate) from my hometown to Oak Ridge, it seemed to take forever to get there and back. Best part of the whole thing was that my new high school sweetheart was on the bus with me which made the trip more memorable.

Smokinjoe-VRCCDS#0005

Not a good ride on this day. I made it through the ice Gordon ( Lucky 13 ) and Paul ( Wimp ) did not. No one got hurt when the bikes when down however Wimp fell on the ice and at one point we thought we would call him ambulance. It was a bitch getting those heavy bikes up while standing on solid ice.

Jess from VA

I did exactly one ride just like this.

We went up a cold WVa mountain and stopped for some coffee, and it snowed 8 inches while we watched.

When it slowed down, we went out and shoveled the snow off the bikes, and went down the mountain.

Slow and easy and in some muddy dump truck tracks.

I couldn't stop laughing, and easily the most cruddy my bike ever was.

Everyone lived.

Dang Pappy, you've aged.  ;)  Cute pics of the squirrel, a couple that hung around our house in Wtr. Pk. were more tame than the other 4,000. I could sit on the front porch and make a screeching noise with my lips into cupped hands and all but those 2 would scatter. They'd sit up and look at me so I'd toss them some crackers or peanuts, whatever I was snacking on. They'd come over and eat right in front of me just a couple feet away. A local hawk got one and Rita saw it happen, I think she would have blown him out of the sky if she had a gun about then. Kinda funny, the other squirrel just sat there eating my treats and watching his buddy get carried away. Guess he figured more for me.  ;D

Smokinjoe-VRCCDS#0005

Motley Crue.... Ol' Big Al is still eat up with if you're not Harley you're not sh!t .... Sad really I've known him most of my life not talked to him in a couple years or more.

Well at least on this one we was smart enough to know it was only going to get worse the higher we went . Cherohala Skyline

I sure miss riding with my friend T-Bird I've said it before I'll say it again he is one of the best riders I've ever shared the wind with. Get in the twisties with him you better have your A game going on. Picture taken at The Valkyrie Brewing Company in Dallas , Wisconsin on a InZane Ride.

Was hoping more would participate in this thread ... I like looking at pictures of bikes , friends and rides . Sure beats the political BS a lot on here want to talk about.

Great thread! I agree, best thing about this forum is seeing and reading about other members, their bikes, and places they ride :cooldude:

Harrison Lake, about 10 minutes down the hill from my house. 37 miles long and 5.5 miles long...it's a big'n

Just some random shots of sites from local rides around my neck of the woods...

Actually one of my favorite days riding in recent memory...16 hours in the saddle solo of mostly straight, flat two-laners through the heart of ND and MT. Mountains and twisties are great, but there's something to be said for the peacefulness of riding through a whole lot of nothin'!

Hwy 12 from Lytton to Lillooet BC

Somewhere in ID... a single Valk stands out in a crowd...a pack of 'em REALLY stands out :cooldude:

So many photos of rides over the years...one day I'll have to sit down and organize them somewhat. Aside from the places we've been and things we've seen, it's the people we've met that really stands out. Some of these folks have become lifelong friends...all of them have been fantastic individuals and a pleasure to share the wind or spend time with...

Following BikerBoy up Hurricane Ridge on his home turf of Port Angeles WA

Meeting up for a ride with some of the fine folks from Florida while in Tampa on a work trip...that was a good day! RIP Steve /Tourus (second from Right)

Arriving in Morgantown for 2016 Inzane with Michael/97blackvlk, Mark, and Brad/Bikerboy1951. They answered my call looking for riding partners to IZ that year and invited me to join up with them in Fargo ND....one of my more memorable rides in many years

what's the deal with putting the passenger window up? Coincidence? Is it a wind thing?

Yes I have wondered that as well Mike

ALso I LOVE the little vent windows. Shame Detroit got rid of those, they move more air than the bakers for sure   :2funny:

I had a '69 droptop Corvette, and the passenger window was up all the time.

Women passengers don't like their hair getting blown into a rat's nest (which happens over 35mph, even with the windshield).

Sometimes it's chilly enough, you can have the top down but keep the door windows up to keep it a little warmer in the car.  No electric windows, so the driver rolls his down when he gets out, but not the other side.  And with no surrounding frame (and the top down), you don't want to be slamming the door with the window up.

It's one or the other.

March AFB CA.  (base housing 159 Gilley Street)

But after she laid both legs in shorts on the hot Hooker side pipes, she didn't like the car much after that.
