Asking for a bit of help for one of our own.

Pappy!

In Florida we have one of the best, most helpful and talented men I have ever met when it comes to anything mechanical. He has helped most of the Florida Valkyrie riders at least one time or more with his technical expertise.
Grumpy (Bill Gurney) has supplied many of you with his famous exhaust tips that he manufactured.
As some of you remember, he had his complete stomach removed a while back from cancer. His chance of survival was in the low30% range and he survived.
As if that was not enough he is now battling more cancer and slowly winning again but he has not been able to work and "support" his household.

For those who can I am asking for a bit of help for Grumpy. Whatever you can do. he is a proud man, too proud to ask.

His PayPal account is  bgurneysr@verizon.net

The thread that is started for him is in the Florida section. I know for a fact that there are more issues that we can help "fix" than what he mentioned. A lot more... that affect his family's basic quality of life.

I am so thankful for the health I enjoy even with the medical issues I have. Struggling with diabetes control right now. But then I hear of the fights being waged by people like Bill and it is humbling. PayPal sent.

Having esophageal issues myself I can imagine the pain that Grumpy has experienced and would not wish that on my worst enemy

Pay pal will be sent today to a good man's cause.

Edit

Could not log in so sent from Bonnie and my account today

Pappy!

I want to thank F6John and of course, OSS, for helping out!

Grumpy has always been the kind of man that would get your Valkyrie going no matter the issue or modify it..... and never charge you enough for it.

For those who do not have PayPal and would wish to help.

I've been thinking of this for the last couple of days and feel there's more we can do with this. I can't even begin to imagine what Grumpy is going through.
I've bought his exhaust tips and a few other items from him over the years and always found him to be a stand up guy and a like minded individual on this board.

Here's my math
500+ reads of this thread, if half the folks who read it sent $10. That would be $2,500 and would Go a long way towards helping out a good man during a trying time.

Much appreciate those who have already contributed and to Pappy for the initial post.
Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings

Lyle - Your reasoning is sound.
Grumpy is one in a million.
Has always been the kind of man that would stop and help no matter what. Has always gone over and above.
It is a true pleasure to be able to give back.
Thanks for your post supporting him.

Lyle, I echo Pappy's feelings re. Bill(Grumpy). I have a feeling that most who donated gave much more than $10, I know I did.  :cooldude:
