;) Well we don't have a large # of Valk riders in my area like my brothers in Central / South FL but we do try to have a Sat. RTE for breakfast. The last couple weekends have been too wet. This was a great Sat to get out, only 4 showed out of the 8 always invited. My Harley friend even made the ride over to Gators in Baker.  :coolsmiley:

I didn't ride it that day but I'm loving the looks, handling and power!

That's great to hear Keith, you should post them all the time if not only to make the rest of the country jealous about our January rides !   And then we hide in the summer time heat.  :P

Looked up the Gator Cafe, looks like a fun place.

Yeah.

I got rooms available at the house and a Red Roof Inn is only a mile from the house. There are some really good roads to ride here in the pan-handle and in S. AL  :coolsmiley: Let me know!  :cooldude:

Just to toss this out. Is there a cool place on the coast to do a somewhat meet in the middle?   A two day weekend to Milton would not give us fun time. We would need three days, something I can't get in season.  Thoughts?

Anyone in central on board with this?

I would be in if it's something we could do in the month of February

I have Feb 15/16 and 29/1 work kills the rest for me.

:cooldude:  Jerry didn't we meet up in Port Saint Joe or was in Apalachicola with Mike - six low, his wife Lez a few years ago? Maybe you weren't there I thought maybe so. That would be a good spot to meet or Perry, FL would be maybe even better for you guys further south. I also know a guy in Perry who rides a Valkyrie and runs the Southern Valkyrie Riders site, Wood Butcher. He knows some good roads in that area and I know many in S GA towards Tallahassee area too.
Jack I'm liking the Feb. 14-16 too.  :coolsmiley:

That was indeed Sixlow.  I remember wanting to go.

Yes Keith that was a good time, wonder how many times the lighthouse has been rebuilt since then. Perry would work, not sure on my availability yet but this peeks my interest.

After further review  :D The dates of 14-17 is Valentine's day and weekend. It might be best for me, my health, if we could shoot for the end of Feb as Jerry mentioned as a possible date. So if there is interest for a north FL ride then I would be up for that for sure. Feb. 28-29- March 1. Let me know if those dates will work for any of you.  :coolsmiley:

Workable dates are not easy with this thing called work.  Lets see how many can make it to decide.

Flrider

I can only do dates up to the 28th.

That Sucks, I already told my Girl we were going for Valentines Day, I never did tell my wife  :coolsmiley: :2funny:

Now folks... this needs to happen! I've been pondering how to do something to include our friends over in the Central Time Zone, and y'all have already come up with something! I've even toyed with the idea of trying to have a RTE to Madison or some such place, but that would still leave so many with a really long one-way ride... An overnighter would fill the bill, however! I'm in... almost any weekend or weekday, for that matter, would work for me... subject to me being in this region, of course...

I'm work-free as far as an obstacle to planning goes, so those who are incumbered thusly need to continue to offer possible dates, so they can then be refined and honed into a workable compromise plan. I do like the sound of this! I like all of our brothers and sisters throughout the state, and I would love to see us all get together more... Of course, I'm also partial to a little tire-kicking in an after-ride party setting, too...

No perfect plan is possible. All will not, unfortunately, be able to make this, but that should not deter us from setting up something that would work for the most riders. The social dimension of our shared passion is important, so... let's git 'er done!

Bruce, I appreciate you voicing your support for this potential gathering. I agree totally with your thoughts on setting up a date and would love to see a gathering happen. Even if it is just for this first time event. I'm looking at the dates now of March 13-15th because of little commentment. Then in April the Mississippi event is scheduled which I will be attending and hope to see you there and several others for the Hattiesburg first time gathering. I'm actually closer to Hattiesburg than I am Perry, FL but will attend both if it works out for the Perry, FL gathering.  Best Regards, Keith  :coolsmiley:

Keith,

Thanks for the come-back. This may not be doable, of course... Life is just too complicated for so many, and schedule conflicts will always be a problem... So will funds availability for such an event, along with... yadda, yadda... Anyway, no perfect plan is there for us to work out... I think responses (or lack thereof) to this thread will give us a pretty good indication of our chances of pulling this off... Or at least...

We will be able to glean a hint of the size and scope of possibilities, though. If it turns out interest is 'lite', then we can shift our thinking more towards venue possibilities... You know, possible historic or maybe 'special' locales, or simply close to midway/midpoint sites. It's also possible we may find this is simply impractical... In that case, maybe a couple of us, or even just me, could come to your area for something... Anyway, I suggest we just wait to see what others might have, or not have, to say...

In the meantime, your dates are good for me at the moment... And, yes, I am planning to make the Mississippi thing in April, also. That should turn out to be a good one! If not before, I'll see ya there... perhaps we can even hoist one or two together... Again, thanks for your posts, replies, and thoughts on a possible Florida gig.
