Hi All,

I recently started a Youtube channel (called "The Alien Rides") focusing on motorcycles.  While we are quarrantined, I've been uploading a new video each day.  Current content is all Valkyrie, but some KLR650 stuff is coming today or tomorrow.  My plan is to do riding videos, tech tips, some talking head stuff, book reviews, etc.  It will ALL be motorcycle related.  Take a look and let me know what you think.

Lol, no politics whatsoever.  Just bikes.  I think I may be the only motovlogger riding a Valk.

Ummmm.  Well, here goes.

Admittedly, I didn't watch all your videos and not even all of any video.  They are too long for what you are doing.  If they are "How to" videos they can have some length to them.  Just riding and saying a few things here and there doesn't hold a viewers interest very long.  Probably 3-5 minutes doing what your doing.

I would suggest videoing while you are approaching the machine so the viewer can see the entire machine first off.  Then move into the techniques and advice quickly.  Title the episodes according to the lesson.

This is a good creative outlet, keep going.

Best of luck.

They even have the emergency response people quarantined in California ? Hell, we have boaters coming here from SoCal still.  :o

Alien

Yep, we are all working remote.  My kitchen is my new office and my dogs are my new coworkers...actually it's been a signifigant improvement.

@Alien: nice channel, thanks for sharing.

I rode through the Avenue of Giants (in Redwoods NP) back in 2015:

NorCal has some great rides, another good example is the CA-36 (a.k.a. Serpent to the Sea).

how was that near 10 minute wait for that burrito, was it worth the wait?

for a second there at the end I thought they charged you thinking they already gave it to you and forgot about you on that big blue bike.... ;D

now now, o to 100 onto an on ramp is naughty.   would be more interesting if the fuzz pulled you over and you talked your way out of a ticket on video for all to see....

The burrito was worth the wait.  It was more like 20 minutes but I edited a bunch out.  As far as the ticket goes, I'm not quite pretty enough to get away with that.

Agree with the previous poster re: length. Any more than 5 min, unless it's a tech video, will lose a lot of people. We have short attention spans.  ;D.

Sometimes, however, a longer video of just riding can be ok too. When I was researching places I wanted to ride in Northern California, Oregon, Washington, etc last summer, I watched quite a few longer videos of just riding to get a feel for the area, roads, etc.

Keep it up. Looking forward to them.

holy cow,  waiting 20 minutes for one burrito?  what did they have to do kill the cat first to make it? :-\

I think they were busy processing phone orders.
