Always had Labs. JoAnn just had to have a little S-hit-Zu from a friends litter. The little S-hit soon became my dog of course. I took the lid off the right saddle bag on the Valk and she would ride around with me.

As an aside. During our Key West years I would walk around the neighborhood every morning and if I was alone all the pretty ladies would pretty much ignore my hello's. With the little S-hit walking with me those same gals were very friendly. There were some nice perks from having that little dog . She's buried in the back yard with the others.



Had to change the brand of the dog since what I wrote it as wouldn't post as I wrote it.

I rode in a charity ride last weekend. As always, the only Valkyrie. A family showed up for the ride on two bikes. The mother had their son on her HD, and the father rode in on a camo Ural with sidecar. Their daughter rode pillion, and there were two dogs in the sidecar. I wish I took a pic of it. The dogs were super well behaved and appeared to not mind the goggles they were wearing. It was an awesome ride.

I love dogs but S-hit Zus's have a special place in my heart. About 4 months after we got our S-hit pup I had heart bypass surgery. That girl would not leave my side for the next 6-8 weeks. She was still partial to my wife as they bonded during those first 4 months but I never enjoyed a dog more over the next 16 years than her.


Here she is  a few years before her passing with her begrudgingly best friend, a Yorkie who just showed up in our yard one day.



This is her buddy today. A good dog who was probably mistreated early in her life and still exhibits the effects. She really helped fill a hole when Josie this world.

That's not me, it's my other brother Darryl.

What's amusing about that video is that the Golden body slams the silo, then the bike, then he's the first guy there to check the rider.  No big deal just dog fun.

My traveling companion, and I do miss him. He loved the bike and he never stopped being an amazement to people on rides.





One of his favorite places was Home Depot where he traveled and was in command there.

Dogs are great people aren't they. The little S-hit Zu would try follow the labs into the tall grass and get lost. She would jump up to try and get her bearings and you could see the grass wiggling wherever she went getting even more lost. I'd send the labs to get her and they would grab her by the nap of the neck and bring her out. She would have both a disgusted yet happy look on her face. I taught her to track and retrieve, she turned out to be a terror on Munks, squirrels, robins and rabbits. She thought she was really earning her keep and the labs would sit and laugh at her.
