Exactly, it would have been better to say I'm going to pick the best person for the job/country, irrespective of their race, gender, etc.  Why limit the candidate pool.

Absolutely correct - a person must be at least 35 years of age (on Inaugaration Day) to be eligible for President / Vice President.  Although there aren't too many people that young I'd WANT to be President....

Uh... that would take a Constitutional change.  Doesn't that require a large number of states to ratify?

There's 4 ways spelled out in the COnstitution on how to change itself. Only the first 2 have been used successfully. But yes - it would probably take a minimum of 1 year to get an amendment through all 50 states, probably much longer...
