:-\ Yes, Sally has stalled just off the coast now saying it will not make landfall till tomorrow afternoon. It has already dumped about 6-8" of rain on us here in Milton/Pensacola. The ground will be so soggy that when the winds grow, above the 20-30 mph we are getting now, it won't take much to blow trees over. Right now the winds are 75-85 mph, off shore as a Cat.1. Don't think it will strengthen. By Wed -Thurday early AM it should be moving on up in AL then across to GA. Big Rain Maker  :coolsmiley:

Sorry that you are having to deal with the possibility of wind damage from soggy soil.  That is a real possibility.  Best of luck to y'all out there.  It even looks like we are going to get more rain from it as well here North of Gainesville.  Let us know on the board if you can get on afterwards if there is anything you need.

Pappy!

I remember Francis, charlie, Ivan, and Jean.......
We had the same scenario. 24" in 24 hours in one of them. We have huge Oaks in the neighborhood and several pulled roots and went down.
Will say a little prayer for y'all up there.  :cooldude:

:crazy2: Wow, Pensacola got hammered :'( I'm in Milton 20 miles west of down town Pensacola. We lost power Wed. morning at 6am and just got it back this Sat. evening @ 6pm.  :-\  By the way Thanks for the message Squirrel, Pappy & Thunderbolt. ;)
We lost some roof shingles, our lani frame and screen was busted up bad. Actually pulled the framing away from the side wall of the house and the 2 foot wall around the edge of the lani. These were anchored with massonary nails. The winds were howling thru my neighbors house and mine. I had a roofing company come today to cover in case it rains anytime soon. We did get about 10+ inches of rain but not as bad as predicted, 15-20". Most of the rain was Tuesday, Sally waffeled around all day just off of our coast. Came ashore Wed. morning about 6am when we lost power. It moved slow, 2-3 mph with speeds up to 100-110. But moving so slow is what cause the damage to be so bad. I'll probably be getting a new roof out of Sally the roof guy said. Hope so, I don't want a patch job. We did have a generator but not a whole house generator. Our new home will have the whole house generator.  :uglystupid2:
But we are all well and most of Milton got power today but Pensacola will still be a week out I imagine. Also there were barges that broke loose and one smashed in to the new bridge that opend last year that links Pensacola to Gulf Breeze with Highway 98. Downtown Pensacola had 3-4' of water from the bay. I'm sure you've seen more on the news than me but I'll be in downtown tomorrow with the wife and friends on bikes. The water is now gone so not sure what to expect. This is not as bad as Ivan in 04 that we went thru. There was much more damage then but this is still pretty bad. See you guys in Dec.  :coolsmiley:
