Just got done doing an install on the Daymaker Bracket and the Eagle LED, Gen3 Headlight with Halo.
Some notes on the trials and tribulations......

The halo on the headight was the thing that made me go to this as a "gotta have" ... Was not planning on spending for the thing. Also, there is a "beauty ring" that hides tabs on the bracket and the thing as a package was the way to go for now.

So some pictures of the Headlight and Bracket......

So, one thing that popped up, was that the  "Beauty Ring" was no longer available for now.  I was very disappointed, even pissed...and was really at screw it, return it, because this whole restomod thing was about style and looks.... Just opinion, I think the bracket exposed is ugly---- But alass... I am a stubborn foole.....

Stepping back, and commiserating.......
I'm like hey... the OEM headlight has a ring on it... hmmm, wonder if it would fit over the edge on the bracket?

Stocker light.....

So, looking at it, the ring is held on by 3 tabs around the rim and I bent those straight and the ring slides off....

You do have to push it down good and its kinda springy, but it does fit well...
I found the tabs of the ring needed to be bent over the bottom of the bracket edge to hold it down good.

Used a block of wood to bend it over...

The bottom of ring is spot welded together and on the bracket there is no place to bend it, no matter it seats solid after you bend the other 2 tabs.
The tabs probably could be rotated 30 degrees or so, then all the tabs could be bent, but I'm anal - the off center would bug me crazy.

Some assembly install notes....
The video says leave the cradle attached to the Chrome Headlight rim, but I found it was just easier to take the whole thing apart.....

Working to get the "cradle" attached to the new headlight...

Found a "gotcha" on the video on the top and bottom mounts... the vid says to reuse the OEM screw to put it together alone with 2 washers......

First I had to make the holes larger on the bracket so the OEM bushings would fit in the holes.. didnt like to do that, but it was the only way..... the hot tip is to enlarge the holes before you even start putting it together .....(Jeez...the holes should be the correct size..)

Next the OEM screws have lock washers on it, the washers make the screw too short..... so... its no go, no way, no how.... so I happen to have a stash of Honda fasteners and those work out.... really any 5mm x 16 would work. If it wasn't 11 o'clock at night, I probably would have run over to Lowe's. ( I live a mile away.)

Replacement Honda screw (black) vs the original Valk screw (gold).. the part number is for the replacement.

New screw + washers and now assembled on the bracket... (same on the bottom)
I do like the wide flange on the new screw...

Good idea....transferring that ring. Looks good, I also had an issue with the size of the holes but just reamed them out a tad with my Dremel.

Just curious....what's the significance of the "e" on the end of fool?

I'm going to buy once, cry once. Including the spotlights. This assumes I don't end up with yet another Valkyrie to set up.  :uglystupid2:

Updating for the halibut, since a new Headlight post came up... The halo ring really jumps out even in day time and makes it a great visibility safety item.

This is a great write up, I remember using it when I installed my led headlight...

I bought a cheap "Chrome 7 Inch Round Headlight Ring Mounting Bracket Compatible
with Harley Davidson" thing from someplace... Summit Racing maybe... and robbed the
beauty ring from it.

Does Josh Chambers still make the brackets?  I have one and my LED light has a green halo.  Not something I planned, but when I hooked it up, that's what I have.  Kind of like it.  Easy to spot.
Nothing in moderation...

I put the Infinity light on Jade at the Taos Inzane.  Has a good look, lights the road well.  Josh calls it the "Dragon's Eye" - clever I guess.  It failed last year where it wouldn't dim.  Contacted Eagle, they replaced it no problem.  Didn't have to return the first one, just sent them pics of the failure.  Since Taos I changed all the lights to LED to reduce the load on the alternator.  Have two pairs of spots and the Infinity; all 5 lights plus the markers and Radiantz taillight use less power than the 130/90 halogen headlight alone did on high beam.
