Throttle Tube

Anyone have any tips on replacing throttle tube/grip on 99 Valkyrie. Using stock Honda parts, having trouble getting cable ends installed on tube.

You mean, where to get a new tube? Or that it is hard to put the cables
back in place?

If the latter, you can loosen the riser caps and slide the bars to
the left and get a lot more slack in the throttle cables. Don't let the
heavy bars crash down on your tank if you loosen the riser bolts...

But if you do need a new throttle sleeve I seem to remember you have to buy a grip assembly to get the sleeve.

#'s 8 & 9  (this is for Interstate, and maybe not Std and Tourer, since the cables enter at different places, but the grip and sleeve may be the same part for all models, you'll have to check part numbers)

Well would you just look at that.  A Florida guy on the Florida board asks a tech question and gets good information from S.C. and Va.  What a great group of folks all around.

Yes! I do have new Honda grip with tube, but getting both cables attached to tube is my problem. Thanks!

What hubcaps said, I Just went through this , loosen the risers cap slide the handlebars to the left, you'll have more room attaching the cables. Welcome to the board!  from Clermont

And if you are concerned with getting handlebars back to exactly the same angle they were, just mark the bars and one riser with a small benchmark (or tape).
