Well I b here.  But while spending last month riding the smokies and surrounding areas along with attending the FCR, the couple next to me at the RV park in Murphy turned me on to this park in Chiefland, no cable and no pool but half the cost of the KOA I was looking at. So more funds for riding, and beer, and golf, and beer, etc. etc. took a short jaunt into Cedar Key for lunch today at a place called Steamers, good food but looks like a number of places there I'll need to try out. Looking forward to meeting those I haven't met yet over the next few months.

Dagwood,
My wife and I spent the last 4 years in Florida in January and February.

The Florida Valkyrie group are a great bunch of people to ride with. Make sure you find time to join them when you can. I wish I was going to be there with you, but the cards are not in the deck this year.

Welcome from the Eustis/Mt. Dora area.
Since you are in Chiefland take a jaunt over to the Suwanee river. When you get there take a left turn and head down to the town of Suwanee. Only one caution light there and if you aren't paying attention you will end up in the Gulf.
Only one restaurant there called Salt Creek. Great restaurant. Get there on a Thursday evening for AUCE shrimp............they are great! Any day is great there though.
About half way down to the restaurant you will see signs for Yellow Jacket Campground. There you will find pontoon boats to rent for a ride on the river! Tons of natural springs up and down the river to swim in. One gorgeous campground as well and you may want to spend a couple days there.
