I found this fascinating. The process of making a motorcycle tire, at least as Shinko does it, is a lot more labor intensive and hands on than I imagined it would be:

Good video, thanks for sharing.  You'd need 2 sets of ear plugs to work there.

I was surprised to see them toss all that stuff in this plastic bags and everything else into a "pot".

Very interesting.

I noted that as well..... Guess the small amount of "Not what we want in there" isn't enough to make a difference...

...or it does make a difference, and that's why so many people think so poorly of Shinko... ;)

That was cool!  66°, was just burning some rubber off Ruby's front Shinko.  I don't have any reason to think poorly of Shinkos as of yet (knocking on wood).

That really interested me also and I thought Shinko was the only one doing it. I have never seen a car tire being made and they did that but I took a look at Michelin and they do it also. That surprised me

the last part was cool where it compresses all that wide rubber down to form in that machine the cycle tire.

I'm about to replace a Shinko 777 on the front of my 2014 Valkyrie.

ONLY 5,000 miles!!!

On my 98's at least 10/11 thousand miles on a Shinko.

I just installed a new Shinko front tire on the trike in preparation for a trip west in June. Although the same "size" as the Metzeler it replaced, it appears smaller, doesn't fill the fender nearly as much. It will get a few thousand miles this summer so will be interested to see how it performs. As for the Metz it replaced, it had nearly 17k miles and if I wasn't planning a long trip I wouldn't have changed it.

PS: I only use balance beads, no wheel weights. Makes a difference I've found.
