Stock Seat

Hey all, my Valk has a Corbin seat on it and I'm guessing it's an older Corbin as it doesn't have the stitching on it indicating it's in fact a Corbin, just a tag on the bottom side.  It's skinnier than the stock seat but fairly comfortable and not too firm. 

How's the stock seat though?  Sometimes I feel like the Corbin is almost too skinny looking for the bike to where I've considered picking up a used stock to try on it.  Decent or a torture device?

The 2000+ seat is probably pretty decent.

The vinyl cover on the Ultimate Big Boy I got in 2007 is finally
starting to crack, I ordered a new Ultimate a week or so ago.

I've had the OEM, my Ultimate  , a Corbin and
a not-made-for-me Russell on my bike at one time or another.

HARTCO make a wide seat that is like sitting on a LazyBoy. Multi hundred mile day ride saddle.

Post 99' seats are very Mustang like in fit/comfort IMO thus me at 5'11" normal build I fit fine. Can be had for $95-$110 for each pad. Do your shopping diligently.

I agree with Britman - I have the Hartco which was built for me and my wife best $ I ever spent on a seat.

Typical for me, I'm always the contrarian, I find the stock seat on my 99 std just fine...
I'm usually fussy on seats for bikes...I have a Corbin on my VFR800.

Another plug for the Hartco, however admittedly they aren't the prettiest seat to look at.  My butt doesn't look at the seat.   

It's so wide it functions like a Russell, providing the under thigh support.  It makes a difference.  It also jacks me up enough so I see over my tall Clearview shield like I would with the stock seat/shield combination.

I've always found the stock seat on my 2001 interstate fine, although I can't sit for more than 150 miles at a time anyway.  I did have to add a drivers backrest to it.

The Valkyrie OEM saddle changed dramatically in the 2000 model.  The later saddle rises at the nose and at the back.  It is quite comfortable.

$178 w/shipping for 19 yr. old well worn seats?   I'm not dissing you but like I mentioned, a new set of pads is about $210 plus much cheaper shipping.
