We thought it was done snowing. Mother nature is not done with us yet. Predicted amount 4" to 7" with isolated 10" totals between now and Thursday morning.

     And I still have relatives near Chicago that wonder WHY I left when I did! Got tired of the snow and ice and how dang hard those winters on are vehicles. And I KNOW I've changed after about 3 years in the tropics. Used to make a LOT of extra money in the winter. Juct can NOT handle the cold as well as I once did. Thinkin that be 1 of the signs of old fartism!  ARIDE SAFE.

Yup, typical Wisconsin...10 months of winter and 2 months of poor sledding. We arrived home about dark:thirty last night after nearly two months in Florida and coming up I-41 we ran into heavy wet snow south of Fond du Lac along with strong winds. It stopped for a short time but began again late this afternoon and hasn't let up. A lousy welcome home greeting and birthday present for me. Nancy loved our time in Florida and I quote; "I can see why you love this place so much, it's beautiful." Will she move, absolutely not cuz her two sons live here. Guess I'm stuck!

I live close to Lake Michigan south of Green Bay. We have very little snow. You can see grass with snow in the low areas.

We have had near 70 degree temps for the last 4 days (it was colder and flurries before that).  Very enjoyable and got in a 150 miler.   This morning it is 40 degrees which is expected to be high for the day.  More of the white stuff is coming most of the days till the end of the weekend. Probably won't' stick because it has been warm.   Then it warms up again.  Just like our weather this time of the year.   it shows us nice spring weather then bang; it is winter again.

We're supposed to get 6 to 9 inches here in the Great White North of New England. Over a foot farther north in NH and VT.  Hope it warms up soon I'm in deep need for some wind therapy.

I don't care for snow at all that being said staying up all night last night worrying about a tornado coming  I think I'd choose the white stuff.

I agree, I remember my family huddling together in our basement when I was growing up in Kentucky back in the 60s and 70s. Luckily our neighborhood was never hit, but still scary.

Sunny and light sleet today in Kentucky! I was out mowing Monday, then the Noah event Monday night and Tuesday early. Next? Have to wait and see.

We just had Noah rain here in NoVA.  Sump pump running hard and steady. 

Flooded my newly soiled and seeded yard, and I hope my seed isn't all moved into big piles.   

That job is supposed to be done.

There's a happy thought Craig.

The yard looks OK (as far as I can tell), but the 4 foot strips between the sidewalks and street are all screwed up.  Seed all piled up, seed and soil over the curb into the street drains.   

Rain is great for new seed, but floods are good for nothing. 

Rain stopped an hour ago (it'll start again soon), but the sump is running continuous anyway.

Yeah, getting it here on the shore. Raining cats and dogs with steady to heavy winds.

Sump pump and new basement drainage system we put in a few years ago getting its first real test (we've had quite a bit of rain since like February) since it was installed. Thankfully it's doing its been doing its job.

Soon after I bought my home, the first multiple days of Noah rain, I wet vacuumed up 90 gallons of water off my finished basement floor one night.  The concrete floor was cut with jackhammers 18 inches from the external walls, dug down to the footers (5 feet), the old terra cotta drain tile was crushed and useless, all dug out and carried out in 5 gal buckets, replaced properly, refilled, re-concreted.  Then I had to refinish the whole large room (not the half bath and utility rooms).  It was a complete nightmare.  This was a latent defect, not discovered on home inspection, and covered up by my seller.  Who I would love to meet again.

2 days ago we got a call from oir power company (JCP&L) there is a scheduled outage for today 11-3 for "service upgrades" on my street and in the neighborhood. Luckily part of the system is a battery backup for power outage however not too sure how long the battery will last. It's a big battery, larger than the one I have in my van. It looks like a marine battery.

Last night I was timing the on/off cycle of the pump which was about every 5 minutes. Today I'll have to fire up the generator just in case.  Thankfully the rain slowed over night.

Out here in KS - lots of folks just turn on the TV to watch the progress of the twisters, going to shelter when in immediate danger. All the TV stations with a proper weather department override the network feeds when we have those events.

At college (KU in Lawrence) - it was easy to tell the natives from the international students (I lived in the Dorm where most of them were, along with upperclassmen and non-traditional students) - natives just continued their normal routine, watching the common TVs for storm progress - international students went down to the cafeteria in the basement to study.

Extreme wind and blowing rain for two days straight. Had snow mix briefly last night. Less wind this AM but still crappy weather.

We got our "trace" of white last night.  Nothing on the roads.  Mountain behind our home is all white.  Will get to low 40's today.  It was nearly 70 on Tuesday.   It will warm up come Monday, more rides will happen. 

Use the term of "White" so as not to use foul language.

We used to get tornado warnings up here from time to time and mostly they were ignored.

Then in 2011 we had a 50 mile long 1/2 mile wide cat 2or3 come through.

Killed 3.

Baby storm compared to other areas, but we now sit up and listen when "Tornado Warning" gets said.

Perry Mason reruns from the 50s and 60s are on tween 2230 and 2330 local time. I did NOT see Perry Mason that night due to the full on storm reporting. AND I am Extremely Greatful to have that up to the minute reporting because a time or 5 those storms were CLOSE to my El Rancho! Basically those T V channels were covering their viewing area. RIDE SAFE.

Some people complain about that (TV stations covering the viewing area), BUT NOT ME ! That works both ways - sometimes I'm in danger and they are just wondering what's all the fuss is about.

It is my observation that the TV (and Web) weather channels, and MSM News weather reports are getting a bit inflated toward the bad and scary weather side.  Not as bad as the overly sensational regular news reporting, but it's like they want in on the show a little bit.

The Weather Channel for my own area has been remarkably accurate over the years... but now when they report bad weather, it's quite often milder than predicted (just in the last year or so).
