Rear Axle Tightening Procedure

Got my new tire on, now time to reinstall teh wheel. I *think* the keys is to tighten the axle with the four final drive bolts loose, AND with no vertical pressure on the axle (IE: the axle slides right in). Is that correct?

YUP: Correct.

And nothing supporting the wheel up in the air not touching the ground and then torque the axle followed immediately by the four final drive nuts

Do not loosen the drive line bolts before you get the axle back in or you will have a hell of a time getting the axle spacer back in!

If anything, having the four final drive nuts loose makes it EASIER to get all the parts together. I've only done this a hundred times over 20 years.
